This series on You Tube presented by Unacademy is trending and for all the right reasons.
Every year lakhs of students appear for engineering and medical entrance exams after their 12th and Kota is called the coaching capital for students to help them crack those exams. Students come here from all over the country to fulfill their dreams of getting into one of the prestigious IITs. But in order to do that students have to go through an immense amount of pressure and obviously a whole lot of competition.
Each of the characters in this series have done full justice to their role.
The protagonist, Vaibhav Pandey (played by Mayur More) is a guy from a middle class family who comes to Kota for IIT coaching. His parents want the best for him and that is very evident in the series. Vaibhav isn't some genius or a highly intelligent student. He's just an average guy who is struggling and works hard and that is one of the reasons why many students will find this character very relatable.
Meena (played by Ranjan Raj) is another fellow student who has come from a struggling household, but has high determination and works very hard to achieve his dream. He is an amazingly supportive friend and I'm sure anyone who has watched this series would want a friend like him.
Uday Gupta (played by Alam Khan) is a perfect example of how money isn't the solution to everything. He comes from a wealthy family and even though his parents provided him with every comfort he would ever need, he didn't have it in him to work hard to crack the entrance.
And of course, my favourite character, Jeetu Bhaiya (played my Jitendra Kumar). I bet everyone would want a teacher like him in their life.
Apart from the above mentioned characters, many others contributed whole heartedly like Ahsaas channa, Urvi Singh, Gaurav Mishra and many more.
Students will, relate to this show on a different level. Every little thing like those times with friends in the hostel, HC Verma sums of physics, tips and exceptions in inorganic chemistry, having a crush on a fellow student is shown in a very relatable and honest way. In today's times, coaching inistitutes are sort of a business to earn money. Throw in some faculty from IIT and voila! But at the same time, I can't say that all institutes are like that.
Students turn in with high hopes and then get into the endless and tiring circle of dpps, mock tests, calculations, HC Verma, physical chemistry, monkeys climbing on each other's tails and what not. And not everyone can handle that amount of pressure and unfortunately, some of them break.
At times like this, everyone needs someone to talk to, someone who can lend a shoulder to lean on, someone who can provide even the tiniest bit of motivation; a friend, a teacher, a guide or anyone.
Being a student nowadays is tough. It's like being in a competition right from the very start and if you don't knock others out there's no way you can get into an IIT.
And this show has it all. It shows the confusion, dread and struggle the students go through while preparing for the entrance exams right from the time of selecting a proper college and mainly the coaching institute. It shows the dedication, the hard work of the parents and the struggles they face to get their children proper education along with investing a huge amount of money. It shows the incredible friendship that can develop into an unbreakable bond, a bond so selfless that it will help you grow strong from within. It shows that a teacher's motivation can work wonders. It can build up our self esteem and boost our confidence. It shows that sometimes we may have to leave behind some things we deeply care about for our greater good.
Overall, this series is a must watch. It's a 10/10 in every department be it acting, direction or cinematography. I suggest everyone should give it a try and I bet you won't be disappointed.
