Child Sexual Abuse Awareness

Child sexual abuse is one of the most alarming problems across the world.It is yet another type of non-volitional sexual behaviour.In child sexual abuse, the children are typically taken advantage of by the people whom they trust most of the times. Media has an endless list of episodes where the small kids were sexually exploited by their close family-be it a stepfather or uncle. A recent statistics developed stated that a child is sexually abused every 15 minutes in the country of India.Kids who are sexually abused face extreme trauma and can lead to depre4ssion as well. Sexual abuse is not just something exclusive to girls like it used to be. It is equally found amongst young boys as well. It has been noticed that, in India, 1 in every 3 girls and 1 in every 4 boys are sexually abused.

In a country like India where sex education itself is considered taboo, how difficult it would be to teach the young kids to prevent them from any kind of sexual abuse. Moreover with the level of understanding and knowledge that they possess, it would be rather be difficult task to let the young minds understand this concept. Hence, I personally believe that it is necessary to create awareness amongst the parents, teacher and other guarding souls about the repercussions of sexual abuse and how will the kids react after being victimised. Many a times, it is also observed that many kids keep mum in sharing these due to fear and negligence of their parents. So the main gist of child sexual abuse awareness lies in making not just the kids but their parents and close ones. Only if one has the ability to identify child sexual abuse and raise their voice against, it is only then that the society can be benefitted out of it.

Kids are the future of our nation. If we let these kids prone to sexual abuse, we are making the whole nation suffer as whole. It has been always said that today’s kids is tomorrow’s leader, so why let go of such leader to be prostitutes and rapists?Spread awareness about child sexual awareness and help build a better society.
