A Feeling Which Is Often Misunderstood

This is a beautiful word that expresses a lot of feelings but it is often misunderstood. When we speak about this word we often think about a girl and a boy, sharing a relationship. But it is actually more. All religion preaches us to love. Then why do we attach a wrong meaning to it? The best love is love at first sight. I do believe in this because my mom started to love me from the minute she saw me. My dad loved me from the day I was born. Long distance relationship is what I share with my school old friends. We are far from each other but our hearts remain connected. Love is something cool. Love is something beautiful. Loving our friends, loving our parents, loving our neighbours all is love. It makes us feel warm.

There are various types of love from ancient Greek period:
Philia:
Philia also known as friendship was first developed between soldiers in the battle field. This is the best kind of love. It means showing love towards your fellow person. It also includes sacrifices and sharing emotions.

Eros: This was the first kind of love, named after the Greek god of fertility, it was developed after the idea of passion or desire towards sex. It is the kind of love in which the other person would possess you. It represents dangerous and irrational form of love.

Ludus Ludus or playful love is which is referred to the affection between children or young lovers. It is about flirting and teasing. The people involved in this are not matured enough.

Agape:
This is the most important kind agape or selfless love. Here we extended our love to all people, whether family members or distant strangers. Agape to the word "charity" or helping others.This means to love our neighbours and even our enemies.

Pragma: Pragma or long lasting love is the matured kind of love. This was the deep understanding that developed between long-married couples. This is also a kind of love between parents and their children.

Philautia: The next variety of love is philautia or self-love. There are two types of self love .To love yourself is good but when it crosses limits where it turns into a case where we focus on fame, it turns evil. This kind of love is where we are self obsessed or narcissistic. The second type is the healthier one and you learn to love yourself in which we need to learn to succeed.
