• And to Thamud Salih, their brother. He said, ‘O my people! Worship Allah. You have no other god besides Him. He brought you forth from the earth and made it your habitation. So plead with Him for forgiveness, then turn to Him penitently. My Lord is indeed nearmost responsive. ’
  समूद को और उसके भाई सालेह को भेजा । उसने कहा," ऐ मेरी क़़ौम के लोगों! अल्लाह की बन्दगी करो । उसके सिवा तुम्हारा कोई अन्य पूज्य - प्रभु नहीं । उसी ने तुम्हें धरती से पैदा किया और उसमें तुम्हें बसायाय़ अतः उससे क्षमा माँगो ; फिर उसकी ओर पलट आओ । निस्संदेह मेरा रब निकट है, प्रार्थनाओं को स्वीकार करनेवाला भी ।"

• Many a habitation have We laid low before: Our retribution came upon them in the night or in the midst of siesta at noon.
  कितनी ही बस्तियाँ थीं, जिन्हें हमने विनष्टम कर दिया । उनपर हमारी यातना रात को सोते समय आ पहुँची या आई, जबकि वे दोपहर में विश्राम कर रहे थे

  बेशक जिन लोगों की क़ब्जे रूह फ़रिश्ते ने उस वक़त की है कि अपनी जानों पर ज़ुल्म कर रहे थे और फ़रिश्ते कब्जे रूह के बाद हैरत से कहते हैं तुम किस ग़फ़लत में थे तो वह कहते है कि हम तो रूए ज़मीन में बेकस थे तो फ़रिश्ते कहते हैं कि ख़ुदा की ज़मीन में इतनी सी गुन्जाइश न थी कि तुम हिजरत करके चले जाते पस ऐसे लोगों का ठिकाना जहन्नुम है और वह बुरा ठिकाना है

• And We ordained for Moses in the Tablets all manner of admonition, and instruction concerning all things, and said to him: Hold to these, with all your strength. and bid your people to follow them in accord with their best understanding. I shall soon show you the habitation of the wicked.
  और हमने उसके लिए तख़्तियों पर उपदेश के रूप में हर चीज़ और हर चीज़ का विस्तृत वर्णन लिख दिया । अतः उनको मज़बूती से पकड़ । उनमें उत्तम बातें है । अपनी क़ौम के लोगों को हुक्म दे कि वे उनको अपनाएँ । मैं शीघ्र ही तुम्हें अवज्ञाकारियों का घर दिखाऊँगा

• But they cried lies to him ; so the earthquake seized them, and morning found them in their habitation fallen prostrate.
  तो उन लोगों ने शुऐब को झुठलाया पस ज़लज़ले ने उन्हें ले डाला - तो वह लोग अपने घरों में औंधे ज़ानू के बल पड़े रह गए

• And if there were a Qur ' an whereby the mountains could be moved or Whereby the earth could be traversed or whereby the dead could be spoken to, it would be in vain. Aye! the affair belongeth to Allah entirely. Have not then those who believe yet known that had Allah willed, He would have guided all mankind! And a rattling adversity ceaseth not to befall those who disbelieve for that which they have wrought or to alight nigh unto their habitation. until Allah ' s promise cometh ; verily Allah faileth not the tryst.
  और अगर कोई ऐसा क़ुरान जिसकी बरकत से पहाड़ चल खड़े होते या उसकी वजह से ज़मीन तय की जाती और उसकी बरकत से मुर्दे बोल उठते बल्कि सच यूँ है कि सब काम का एख्तेयार ख़ुदा ही को है तो क्या अभी तक ईमानदारों को चैन नहीं आया कि अगर ख़ुदा चाहता तो सब लोगों की हिदायत कर देता और जिन लोगों ने कुफ्र एख्तेयार किया उन पर उनकी करतूत की सज़ा में कोई मुसीबत पड़ती ही रहेगी या तो उनके घरों के आस पास नाज़िल होगी यहाँ तक कि ख़ुदा का वायदा पूरा हो कर रहे और इसमें शक़ नहीं कि ख़ुदा हरगिज़ ख़िलाफ़े वायदा नहीं करता
