• You are allowed to sleep with your wives on the nights of the fast: They are your dress as you are theirs. God is aware you were cheating yourselves, so He turned to you and pardoned you. So now you may have intercourse with them, and seek what God has ordained for you. Eat and drink until the white thread of dawn appears clear from the dark line, then fast until the night falls ; and abstain from your wives to stay in the mosques for assiduous devotion. These are the bounds fixed by God, so keep well within them. So does God make His signs clear to men that they may take heed for themselves.
  ताकि वह सीधी राह पर आ जाए तुम्हारे वास्ते रोज़ों की रातों में अपनी बीवियों के पास जाना हलाल कर दिया गया औरतें तुम्हारी चोली हैं और तुम ख़ुदा ने देखा कि तुम करके अपना नुकसान करते तो उसने तुम्हारी तौबा क़ुबूल की और तुम्हारी ख़ता से दर गुज़र किया पस तुम अब उनसे हम बिस्तरी करो और जो कुछ ख़ुदा ने तुम्हारे लिए लिख दिया है उसे माँगों और खाओ और पियो यहाँ तक कि सुबह की सफेद धारी काली धारी से आसमान पर पूरब की तरफ़ तक तुम्हें साफ नज़र आने लगे फिर रात तक रोज़ा पूरा करो और हाँ जब तुम मस्ज़िदों में एतेकाफ़ करने बैठो तो उन से हम बिस्तरी न करो ये ख़ुदा की हदे हैं तो तुम उनके पास भी न जाना यूँ खुल्लम खुल्ला ख़ुदा अपने एहकाम लोगों के सामने बयान करता है ताकि वह लोग बचें

• That which Allah giveth as spoil unto His messenger from the people of the townships, it is for Allah and His messenger and for the near of kin and the orphans and the needy and the wayfarer, that it become not a commodity between the rich among you. And whatsoever the messenger giveth you, take it. And whatsoever he forbiddeth, abstain. And keep your duty to Allah. Lo! Allah is stern in reprisal.
  जो कुछ अल्लाह ने अपने रसूल की ओर बस्तियोंवालों से लेकर पलटाया वह अल्लाह और रसूल और नातेदार और अनाथों और मुहताजों और मुसाफ़िर के लिए है, ताकि वह तुम्हारे मालदारों ही के बीच चक्कर न लगाता रहे - रसूल जो कुछ तुम्हें दे उसे ले लो और जिस चीज़ से तुम्हें रोक दे उससे रुक जाओ, और अल्लाह का डर रखो । निश्चय ही अल्लाह की यातना बहुत कठोर है । -

• They wash and dress gaily, they worship the image of Gauri and light lamps before it, they offer perfumes, abstain from eating, and play with swings.
  इस दिन वे स्नान करती हैं और बढ़िया वस्त्र पहनती हैं. वे गौरी की मूर्ति की पूजा करती हैं और उसके सामने दीप जलाती हैं.

• The months for Hajj are well known to all ; whoever makes up his mind to perform Hajj during these fixed months, let him totally abstain from all sorts of sexual indulgence, wickedness and wrangling during the Hajj and remember that Allah knows whatever good you do. Take necessary provisions for Hajj, and piety is the best of all provisions: so refrain from disobeying Me, O men of understanding!
  हज के महीने जाने - पहचाने और निश्चित हैं, तो जो इनमें हज करने का निश्चय करे, को हज में न तो काम - वासना की बातें हो सकती है और न अवज्ञा और न लड़ाई - झगड़े की कोई बात । और जो भलाई के काम भी तुम करोंगे अल्लाह उसे जानता होगा । और पाथेय ले लो, क्योंकि सबसे उत्तम पाथेय ईश - भय है । और ऐ बुद्धि और समझवालो! मेरा डर रखो

• And whosoever of you has not ampleness of means that he may wed free believing women, let him wed such of the believing bondswomen as the right hands of you people own. And Allah noweth well your belief, ye are one from the other. O Ye may wed them then, with the leave of their owners, and give them their dowers reputably as properly wedded women, not as fornicateresses, nor as those taking to themselves secret paramours. And when they have been wedded, if they commit an indecency, on them the punishment shall be a moiety of that for free wedded women. This is for him among you, who dreameth perdition ; and that ye should abstain is better for you, and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
  और तुममें से जो शख्स आज़ाद इफ्फ़तदार औरतों से निकाह करने की माली हैसियत से क़ुदरत न रखता हो तो वह तुम्हारी उन मोमिना लौन्डियों से जो तुम्हारे कब्ज़े में हैं निकाह कर सकता है और ख़ुदा तुम्हारे ईमान से ख़ूब वाक़िफ़ है तुममें एक दूसरे का हमजिन्स है पस उनके मालिकों की इजाज़त से लौन्डियों से निकाह करो और उनका मेहर हुस्ने सुलूक से दे दो मगर उन्हीं से निकाह करो जो इफ्फ़त के साथ तुम्हारी पाबन्द रहें न तो खुले आम ज़िना करना चाहें और न चोरी छिपे से आशनाई फिर जब तुम्हारी पाबन्द हो चुकी उसके बाद कोई बदकारी करे तो जो सज़ा आज़ाद बीवियों को दी जाती है उसकी आधी लौन्डियों को दी जाएगी से निकाह कर भी सकता है तो वह शख्स जिसको ज़िना में मुब्तिला हो जाने का ख़ौफ़ हो और सब्र करे तो तुम्हारे हक़ में ज्यादा बेहतर है और ख़ुदा बख्शने वाला मेहरबान है

  तो जो माल ख़ुदा ने अपने रसूल को देहात वालों से बे लड़े दिलवाया है वह ख़ास ख़ुदा और उसके रसूल और क़राबतदारों और यतीमों और मोहताजों और परदेसियों का है ताकि जो लोग तुममें से दौलतमन्द हैं हिर फिर कर दौलत उन्हीं में न रहे, हाँ जो तुमको रसूल दें दें वह ले लिया करो और जिससे मना करें उससे बाज़ रहो और ख़ुदा से डरते रहो बेशक ख़ुदा सख्त अज़ाब देने वाला है

• Prove orphans till they reach the marriageable age ; then, if ye find them of sound judgment, deliver over unto them their fortune ; and devour it not by squandering and in haste lest they should grow up Whoso is rich, let him abstain generously ; and whoso is poor let him take thereof in reason. And when ye deliver up their fortune unto orphans, have witnessed in their presence. Allah sufficeth as a Reckoner.
  और यतीमों को कारोबार में लगाए रहो यहॉ तक के ब्याहने के क़ाबिल हों फिर उस वक्त तुम उन्हे उनके हाथ से कराके अगर होशियार पाओ तो उनका माल उनके हवाले कर दो और ऐसा न करना कि इस ख़ौफ़ से कि कहीं ये बड़े हो जाएंगे फ़ुज़ूल ख़र्ची करके झटपट उनका माल चट कर जाओ और जो दौलतमन्द हो तो वह बचता रहे और जो मोहताज हो वह अलबत्ता दस्तूर के मुताबिक़ खा सकता है पस जब उनके माल उनके हवाले करने लगो तो लोगों को उनका गवाह बना लो और हिसाब लेने को ख़ुदा काफ़ी ही है

• satan seeks to stir up enmity and hatred among you by means of wine and gambling, and to bar you from the remembrance of Allah and from praying. Will you not abstain from them ?
  शैतान की तो बस यही तमन्ना है कि शराब और जुए की बदौलत तुममें बाहम अदावत व दुशमनी डलवा दे और ख़ुदा की याद और नमाज़ से बाज़ रखे तो क्या तुम उससे बाज़ आने वाले हो

• Those who cannot afford to marry should abstain from what is unlawful until God enriches them by His grace. And free those slaves you possess who wish to buy their freedom after a written undertaking, if you know they have some goodness, and give them out of the riches God has given you. Do not force your maids to prostitution if they wish to lead married lives, in order to get the benefits of this world. But if someone forces them, surely God after their forced helplessness, for He is forgiving and kind.
  और जो लोग निकाह करने का मक़दूर नहीं रखते उनको चाहिए कि पाक दामिनी एख्तियार करें यहाँ तक कि ख़ुदा उनको अपने फज़ल व से मालदार बना दे और तुम्हारी लौन्डी ग़ुलामों में से जो मकातबत होने की ख्वाहिश करें तो तुम अगर उनमें कुछ सलाहियत देखो तो उनको मकातिब कर दो और ख़ुदा के माल से जो उसने तुम्हें अता किया है उनका भी दो और तुम्हारी लौन्डियाँ जो पाक दामन ही रहना चाहती हैं उनको दुनियावी ज़िन्दगी के फायदे हासिल करने की ग़रज़ से हराम कारी पर मजबूर न करो और जो शख्स उनको मजबूर करेगा तो इसमें शक नहीं कि ख़ुदा उसकी बेबसी के बाद बड़ा बख्शने वाले मेहरबान है
