Scandalous Affair : Story Of Love & Psyche. Pt 1

Once upon a time there were king & queen, rulers of unnamed land. They had 3 daughters of unmatched beauty.

The youngest and most beautiful was Psyche, whose sensuality was blatantly evident.

Rulers and people travelled great distances to witness such beauty. Psyche began to be worshiped instead of love goddess Aphrodite. All the offerings & prayers that were supposed to be given to The Love Goddess, were given to Psyche. It was rumored that she was the second coming of Aphrodite.

Aphrodite is offended, and decided to punish the young girl. She commanded her son Eros, the god of love and passion, “These mortals are worshiping this insolent girl instead of me, the goddess of Love & beauty. They have the audacity to place her in my position. Eros, my son, go & shoot Psyche with one of your arrows so that she may fall in love with something hideous & gruesome. That will be her punishment”.

Eros reached the princess room at night and prepared his dart, which makes any living thing fall in love with the first thing it sees.

The princess beauty captured Eros heart and he accidently scratched himself with his own dart, consequently, falling deeply in love with Psyche and disobeys his mother's order.

Although aphrodite cannot forgive the girl, she curse the princess that she will never be pursued by any claimant. Her sister’s got married but she yet has to find love. Her father suspects that they have incurred the wrath of the gods, and consults the Oracle of Apollo. The Oracle says “Your daughter will marry a perverse & winged being, one who finds happiness in hurting mortals & gods”. They told the King that The princess must be arrayed in wedding attire, conveyed by a procession to the peak of a rocky crag, and exposed.

Zephyr the West Wind bears her up to meet her fated match, and deposits her in a lovely meadow.

Upon waking up she finds a marvelous house with golden columns, a carved ceiling of wood and ivory, silver walls embossed with animals, and jeweled mosaic floors.

A disembodied voice says to her “Don't worry young one. We have been commanded to serve you. Please make yourself comfortable”.
