The twinkling, bright, celestial bodies that we commonly call stars are many light years far away from our planet( 1 light year = 9.461 × 1015metres). Just like any other astronomical object, the star holds within itself, vast treasure of secrets many of which astrologers haven't yet discovered. Just like those secrets, another fascinating event in the life of star is its birth. Stars are born over a course of time with immense release of nuclear energy which gives them their characteristic beautiful glow.
To understand the birth of a star, one must understand the conditions required for the birth of a star. Process of birth of a star can be divided into various steps.
1) The first step in the process of birth of a star begins when large mass of gases that keep floating the universe begin to get concentrated at a specific point.
2) These gases include Hydrogen as a major component.
3) These large mass of gases when begin to concentrate at a point they form huge vortex of Clouds of gases that are larger than our entire solar system.
4) Their dense concentration at a point results in gravity pulling the other matter towards the nucleus. During this process the temperature begins to rise and at one point it increases by such a tremendous value that the hydrogen present in the clouds of gases fuses with the other hydrogen atoms and this results in a nuclear reaction forming Helium atoms.
5) This nuclear reaction emits tremendous amount of energy in form of heat and light.
6)Hence these nuclear reactions are the cause of the light emitted by the stars.
Hence star is formed. After that, the star continues to live until all of the hydrogen fuses to form helium. After that this helium is further fused to form more Complex atoms of elements and this process keeps on going further and farther.
