What would happen if you stop sleeping ?
Would it affect your body and how long can you last without sleep ?
Well if you take sleep out of your routine you would have 24 hours to complete all your work .An average human needs 6 -8 hours of sleep per daywhich means an average person spends 1/3 rd of his life in bed. It is during this time that our body release some hormones and tissues and cells are repaired. Sleep is really important to burn fat and to grow muscles.

Now what happens if we don’t sleep?Well on day one you won’t have much issues but after the 24 hours are over then all the reactions in our body slows down.You will appear drunk and you tend to forget everything. After two days, you become pale and wrinkles start to appear. You become tired as your body stops metabolising glucose which can lead to Type 2 diabetes.On day three Hallucination starts .Your dreams and nightmares come to life .You start seeing things that are not there and after a week you could easily die as your immune system would have become very weak.

I'm sure nobody would want to die like this . So here are some strategies you can follow to get neough sleep.

1.Make a bed time routine i.e. Go to bed and wake up at the same time and make this a habit
2.Be physically active or do some exercise in the evening .This could make your body use up the energy and can make you sleepy.

3.Avoid food that contain caffeine. Caffeine can interfere in your sleep for about 8 hours .
4.Avoid heavy meal before bed and have food 1 hour prior to your bed time .
5.Avoid long day time naps .
6.Make your bed room relaxing ,dark and cool .
7.Take a hot shower before bed .
8.Get a good mattress and pillow .
9.Switch off all your electronic gadgets like smartphone and laptop one hour before bedtime.
10.Have enough fluid one hour before bedtime to keep you hydrated throughout the night .
Thus we can say that sleep is really essential for the better working of our body and mind . We feel healthy and rejuvenated everyday only if we sleep regularly .Hence we can say that sleep is as important as exercise and diet.
