Transformers was an animated series and merchandising franchise. The franchise was launched as a line of action figures but got popularized globally by the animated series and later on the Hollywood movies directed and produced by Michael Bay. Transformers has a vast universe and a vast array of characters. Here are a few of the most loved and strongest characters:

5. Hot Shot

The youngest member of the Autobots and the second in command after Optimus Prime. He transforms into a sports car and can achieve astonishingly high speeds. He is the fastest transformer on land in the matter of speed, is second to none. The speedster was given the responsibility to defend and protect the Energon, life source of the Transformers from the Decepticons during the war for Cybertron. His sworn enemy is Starscream and he will go to any length to protect his Autobot family from the Decepticons.

4.Grimlock

Grimlock is the leader of the Dinobots who are aligned with the Autobots to fight the Decepticons. Grimlock is one of the strongest warriors to have existed alongside the Primes. Although, from his attitude, he can be easily misconstrued as a Decepticon due to his attitude towards many problems especially his attitude towards all humans. Grimlock cares less for the human species unlike Optimus Prime who tries to protect the human species from extinction by the Decepticons. He is one of the very few candidates who can contest the leadership for the Autobots against Optimus and the two often get into squabble over their preferred leadership methods. Grimlock transforms into a giant mechanical tyrannosaurus rex. He is feared by the Autobots and the Decepticons alike because of his destructible and nihilistic behavior. His weapon of choice is an Energo-sword, a sword that can slash mountains.

3. Optimus Prime

Optimus is the inspiring and fearless leader of the Autobots. He is the polar opposite of his Decepticon counterpart, Megatron. Optimus never assumed leadership, but was appointed as leader by the Matrix of Leadership to command and lead the race of machines. Thus he became a Prime and contains the Spark, energy source of the Transformers, inside his chest. Optimus’ battle prowess is unmatched on the fields. Optimus transforms into a truck and with the help of his trailer he can engage a super-mode. Optimus posses the capability of a combiner i.e. he can combine with another transformer, mostly Jetstream, to become a massive transformer with more power.

2. Megatron

Megatron is the leader of the Decepticons and his sole purpose is to terminate the human race in order to establish a reign of the machines. Megatron does everything in his capacity to bring down the Autobots. Megatron is the only one to have defeated Optimus in battle; he managed to kill the Autobot leader and destroyed the Spark inside his chest. Megatron’s capabilities are advanced than many of his enemies. Megatron has multipe transformers. He can transform into a gun and a fighter jet. Megatron also undergoes a rebuilding procedure and after it emerges as Galvatron. As Galvatron he become stronger than his previous self and can now transform into a heavy battle tank.

1.Starscream

Megatron may be the ultimate bad guy but Starscream is the real villain and the embodiment of pure evil. Starscream was the treacherous commander of the Decepticons’ Air Forces, the Seekers. Starscream takes pride in his background of the Cyberton War Academy and considers himself to be a better leader than Megatron. Starscream’s ambitions lead him to btray his leader in the war for Cybertron and finally proclaims himself as the leader of the Decepticons. His ambitions lead to his demise. His victory against Megatron was grand but shortlived. Megatron was permanently transformed into Galvatron who then blew Starscream into ashes during the war. This also caused galvatron to lose his own life as well, once again. Starscream transforms into a super-sonic jet. His warrior skills are unmatched till date.
