Like a shadow in the dark, the spirit of woman emerges from deadly waves of ocean. She comes forth as a supreme power, as a lightning and yet somehow she ends up in a place where she lies helpless, agonised by the power of those who claim to be superior.
Feminism is a term which can be derived in several ways for different people. For some it may concern the idea of gender equality, while others may look at it as a means to establish women empowerment. I myself find it difficult to settle with just one argument. Feminism is a vast concept, it’s a belief that men and women should be treated equally and be awarded with same opportunities without differentiating between the two. It becomes pretty hard to accept the fact that women around the globe are still devoid of the most basic necessities of life. They struggle each and everyday to gain a fraction of respect and freedom that they deserve to have as a human. Men too play a crucial role in this situation, where sometimes they even have to suppress their supporting views and opinions about feminism as it may prove them less of a man.
The feminist movement is not over, nor does it seem to be for a long time. It’s the need of the hour that feminists continue to put their valuable efforts and make people become conscious about women’s rights. Teens and the youth, being gifted with the weapon of technology and media, play an immense role in this global movement. If all girls take a stand to achieve what they deserve atleast in our country, then we can make our biggest contribution in changing the world.
