Regardless of who wins, an election should be a time for optimism and fresh approaches.

India is said to be world’s largest democracy. Election 2019 of this huge democratic country are one of the most expensive elections in the world. This burning topic is debated by everyone from street vendors to businessmens. Each of us have expectations-criticisms for different parties and their representatives. There is nothing wrong in this after all its our right to cast vote and choose best for ourselves.

My area of concern here is demolishing standards of Indian politics. Why is election commission more digilent this time? What’s the reason behind so many restrictions, moratorium and campaign curbs on so many political leaders? Do they really have a reason for crossing their lines, giving proactive speeches, demeaning women? Why our unity is tattered repeatedly? All this is vicious cycle once in never out. Its not just about a specific party whether its congress’s direct attack “Chowkidar chor hai”, or BJP’s Yogi Adiynath’s and Sadhvi Pragya’s rousing speeches, this all was still tolerable but actor-turned- politician Mr. Azam Khan crossed all limits of humiliation by his disgusting comment on Mrs. Jaya Prada. For me it was a inadmissible act that cant be just shrugged off.

Greed of power have blind folded all so called political leaders, the only aim is to get maximam votes and aquire absolute majority by hook or by crook.

The 2019 general election will long be remembered not just for the transgressions of top political leadership, but also for degrading our key morals. On a bigger picture this should prick every individual residing in this country because if we will not think upon this, no one will.
