Whenever we talk about sports , We talk about Cricket. Cricket is that constant sport that remains in our mind and heart. It has made a place for itself in our hearts and shall remain there forever.

Talking about sport and Cricket , there's one such gender that has dominated the sport. That has proven it's mettle. That has made us all wonder about the potential. Made us believe in the sport called Cricket.

Right from it's beginning , it has always been the men. It's been more than a century that the sport has begun in India , It has all been the men from then.

When mentioning men , their counter part have been on the receiving end. There was a time when a woman was questioned whenever she held a bat. They were told that they don't belong to the sport. They don't belong out there in the field and all they can do and are supposed to do is to be at home , be restricted in the 4 walls and do all the work related to it.

The landscape has changed now. Gone are the times when the women are restricted inside the 4 walls. Gone are the times when the women were questioned whenever they held the cricket bat. Whenever they stepped out of their houses and went on to the field.

It has been 40 years since the women have been playing one day cricket and there's one such name , one such woman that has made a place in everyone's heart since the time she started playing the sport.

India has played 263 One day games since 1978 and she has been a part of the team in 200 games out of the 263 games played.

We are talking about none other than , Captain of the Women's ODI and the Test team , MITHALI RAJ.

Mithali Dorai Raj ( born 3rd December , 1982 ) belonged to a Tamil Family. She has been playing the sport from the age of 10. Right from the beginning , she has been playing with the male cricketers which shows her dedication and love towards the sport.

She made her ODI debut back in 1999 against Ireland and scored a hundred on her debut. She has been only been one of the very few women to achieve this wonderful feat.

Right since then , Mithali is considered as one of the legends that has ever played the game. She is the highest run getter in ODI's with over 6,600 runs in the 200 games she's played. She is the first woman to ever score 6,000 one day runs.

She has captained the Indian team in more than one ICC event , becoming the first woman to do so. She's lead the team to the World Cup final on two occasions , once in 2005 and in 2017.

She became the first ever woman to play 200 One day games when she played her 200th One day game against NewZealand in NewZealand recently.

Here's congratulating the legend for her 200 Odi games and an illustrious career. Keep making the nation proud , Mithali!
