Human race has been one of the most socialised species since their evolution. And as a result of this socialisation we are more accustomed to living in a society rather than being end up living alone. In the society we live Neighbours have a crucial part.

If society is a curry then neighbours are spices, added to that curry which makes it spicier and tastier just like they make our locality dynamic and soothing. But no matter where we live, what type of society we belong, these few typical categories neighbours are a sure shot everywhere. Below I have discussed few categories of which am pretty sure that some faces will definitely pop up in your mind while going through them.

1) The 1000 mega-pixel camera

They are the most commonly found species in almost every locality. It is said that their eyes even don’t miss the heartbeats of the victim and can even see you through walls. They are the ones who knows every second of your day, whom you met, what you ate, when you came back home and what not. Even you may forget few activities about your day but they won’t. They knows every mill sec of your day and life. Although there is no experience limit to this category but generally these high resolution cameras belong to age bracket of usually above 40s.

2) The Snipers with 8X scope

These are the neighbours who painstakingly wake up as early as possible to accomplish their mission i.e. MISSION PLUCK OUT. Their mission consist of plucking out freshly blossomed flowers to riped lemons and mangoes in neighbour’s garden. Their sniper is made up of a long stick with a hook made of wire attached at the end, enabling them to have unmatching skills second to none when it comes to point the rod inside the garden over the walls or fence. These species can be easily spotted at the dawn especially between 4-6 a.m.

3) The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan followers

Ok, so we all love cleanliness and hygiene. But have you ever wondered to what extent? Well this category is dedicated to those people who have taken Modi ji’s advice of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan way too seriously. And by last few words I mean really way too seriously. They can be found holding broom and constantly mopping their house continuously almost as if 24x7. Currently am having a neighbour who falls in this category. He mops before going to office, after coming from office and even don’t rest during lunchtime. You literally needs a microscope even to find a speck of dust in his house.

4) The Samaajsevi

Well these are the most desired and usually rare to find nowadays. As the name suggest they are like social workers of our hood. You have drainage problem they will be the first one to call for help, broken streetlight, no problem they have already taken the measures. These are the hidden jewels of our neighbourhood, who for some reason could not join national politics. Their talent lies in handling social issues of the neighbourhood, solving disputes, and arranging facilities and managing festive celebrations with full eagerness. Without them our life is likely to go off the tracks.

5) Log kya Kahenge

Now these are the most commonly found and most irritating species of all. These are the people who keep pestering your mom to restrict your freedom and continuously filling her ears against you. They are the ones who consider themselves as the moral police too. Their most lethal weapon is “log kya kahenge” using it whenever and wherever they seem to lose their argument.

6) The Constant Borrowers

Last but not the least, this is the specie we fear the most. They can be found borrowing onions and few coriander leaves for tadka to your car for few hours. Some of them maybe the needy but most of them are habitual of constantly borrowing milk, sugar, spices and many more.

At last no matter how irritating we think of them, how much fun we make of them the real fact is that we need them. Being habitual of living in a society we have our priority of getting friendly community to live peacefully and that is where neighbours come in. So first, let’s be good neighbours ourselves and then create a loving and peaceful neighbourhood around us.
