A healthy mind resides only in a healthy body.

It is a very famous saying for many decades but the hectic lifestyles and increasing workload in our day to day lives leaves very less room for us when it comes to fitness, either mental or physical.

Though mental fitness is equally important, but the physical fitness is what suffers the most from our never ending workloads. Not getting adequate sleep, proper diet, continuously sitting during office hours, eating junk food most of the time and so on. The result comes in the form of increased weight when we decide to take our next trip to the weighing scale.

Surprise! And there it is..

Obesity is a medical condition that occurs when a person carries excess weight or body fat that is most likely to affect their health in various ways. It is the result of negligence of our body and lifestyle, when we refuse to acknowledge that our body is also like a machine that needs proper care time to time in order to keep it working smoothly.

One way to measure this is through BMI ( Body Mass Index )
BMI is a tool that doctors use to assess if a person is of appropriate weight for their age, sex, and height. The measurement combines height and weight.

There are various reasons for rising Obesity among today's generation :

  • Leading an unhealthy lifestyle

  • Not getting adequate sleep

  • Improper intake of nutrition

  • Skipping breakfast

And the list goes on...

Obesity is the root cause of many diseases and can give rise to blood pressure, diabetes, arthritis and many other such problems.

Kids and teens are at high risk of obesity because of the improper lifestyle and excessive consumption of junk food.

Also, obesity leads to many hormonal changes in the body and it has a negative impact on the body of the children and they attain puberty. Attaining puberty at the age of 9-10 years has become common now-a-days, all thanks to obesity and an unhealthy lifestyle.

Following success and in a day-and-night race to earn money, why do we tend to neglect our body ? Why do we forget the importance of a healthy body? What would be the utility of everything if a person has everything except health.

Without health, nothing will please a person. And that's why it is said that
Health is Wealth.

Most important asset that a person has is his body, a healthy body. He can achieve almost everything if he has health. A healthy person can have a sound sleep even if he has a little money but the vice- versa is not true. But people underestimate the importance of health and end up regretting what they lost.

So, take proper care of yourself. Have adequate sleep, proper nutrition and regular exercise.
Your body will thank you for this in your old age.

Remember,

Take care of your body. It is the only place where you have to live.
