1) British council India 70th AnniversaryScholarships for STEM

The scholarship is specially for Indianwomen to pursueScience, Technology, Engineering And Math in the United Kingdom. The scholarship value is 1 million and will be given to 70 women, however, the Scholarship for 2019 are already closed. The scholarship will fund full tuition fees and the girls will study one year Master's degree in some of the world's best universities. BUT, the living and other expenses will have to be bourn by the candidate. To find out more about these institutions that offer this scholarship please visit British council scholarships. The applications usually open in September and October.

2) GREAT Scholarships India

This scholarship provides funding for students willing to study undergraduate or postgraduate in any university of Great Britain. The scholarship is offered for 35 students under UK's great Britain campaign. For undergraduate students the scholarship covers 1 year of tuition fees that is study only, the living expenses have to be bourn by the candidates. Orone complete year tuition fees for post-graduation ,the next year's is to be bourn by the candidates. For this year the applications are closed. The streams vary from Science, Technology to Humanities.

3) Commonwealth Fellowship and Scholarship

This fellowship is offered in collaboration with government of India, as a part of Commonwealth nation. The scholarship is for all those individuals who want to study in the UK and make significant development in their own country field. The scholarship is available for post-graduation and Doctoral studies. It is to be kept in mind that the the post-graduation is only for one yearanditincludeseconomy return International travel, tuition fees, adequate maintainance and other allowance. The various subjects covered are -

1) Science and Technology for development.
2) Strengthening Health System and Capacity
3) Promoting global prosperity
4)Strengthening global peace, security and governance
5) Strengthening resilience and response to crises
6) Access, inclusion and opportunity

4) Charles Wallace India Trust Scholarship

The Charles Wallace scholarships are of 6 types and are aimed at helping artistic students achieve their goals and supporting their studies. It's various kinds are -

1) Artists Residencies - they are of three kinds namely -1) Gasworks International Residency Programme2) Delfina foundation and you've to see and contact these people to confirm if you actually qualify for the admission. 2) Grants towards the final year of Doctoral Study in the UK.
CWIT offers a few grants to the students about to complete their doctorate studies in any UK University to support their studies. The subjects covered are the arts, heritage, conservation and the humanities(especially but not exclusively history and literature )€500- €600 are paid, but this is not clearly mentioned that are they paid on a monthly basis or just once a year.There is a certain eligibility criteria that the student must fulfill-

1) studying the fields covered by CWIT.
2) be an Indian citizen and domiciled in India and who are returning back to India after completion of their degree.

3) Age should bebetween 25- 38

4) Should not have been a receipient of CWIT in past five years.
Please do your complete research and make sure you do check with the university that you do qualify for this scholarship.

3)Long term

This CWIT is aimed at helping students study various subjects such as photography, film, visual arts, performance-dance and drama, music directing , design (but not architecture), curating.

  • Heritage conservation - Conservation Architecture

  • Management of heritage project sites.

  • Conservation of landscapes

  • Conservation of materials such as timber, stone, metal (including metal structures, armour and artefacts), paintings, photographs and film. Internships for painting conservators are sometimes hosted at the Tate conservation department. Enquiries toconservation.enquiries@tate.org.uk

  • Engineering, in relation to conservation of heritage buildings and structures.

Other Requirements

Apart from your application form, your form needs a statement of purpose, stating clearly what are they willing to do in that subject, how do they plan on doing it, and how will this experience be utilised by you on your return to India.

Along with -

  • An IELTS certificate.

  • Evidence of unconditional acceptance , on the course, program attachment, or internship for which you applied.

  • Portfolio submission where appropriate in either CD/ DVD or hard copy.

4) Short research and professional visits

There are 10-15 grants annually of upto € 1400, for a short or professional visits, by academic and research scholars and are sufficient for upto three weeks. Applicants who are willing to stay longer and travel much should have their own expenses arranged.

5) Museology

Curating, Conservation or Archaeology - This Opportunity provides you to work in any of the above subjects at Victoria and Albert museum or various other museums like that. This initiative is jointly funded by CWIT and the Nehru Memorial Trust for the India collections.
