Why Netflix?

Reed Hastings and Mark Randolph didn't know that what they started back in 1997 will become one of the largest market for entertainment by 2010. Netflix now produces around 126 original series and films which is a huge number.

The question is why netflix? Now a days, more people are streaming to web content for entertainment purpose rather relying on TV's. It is quite easy for them to use internet for watching their favourite shows and movies. A common reference for netflix, "holding a can of beer in one hand and sitting on a sofa watching netflix is the perfect chill dude". It is so much common among the youth. They can binge watch any series or movies that are available on netflix easily. There is so much content on netflix like F.R.E.I.N.D.S , STRANGER THINGS, SACRED GAMES, LUCIFIER and movies too; CHOPSTICKS, FURIOUS 8, LOVE PER SQUARE FOOT, etc.

Okay! People say it is paid. But if you can watch so many series and movies at a single platform where you are provided with the facility of downloading it, then it is not an issue. Monthly subscription of it doesn't cost much if you can subscribe in a group. Like for a subscription of 800/month, 4 people can binge watch it. That will add to 200/person. This is not bad. Also 1st month is free. So not a problem right!

India has a separate fan base for netflix. So for us, they bring new content. From Rajma Chawal, Lust Stories, Chopsticks to Sacred Games, Ghoul, Selection Day, there is so much to watch. Netflix has its headquarters in India too. That is why it has so much recognition here.

Keeping in mind the taste of Indian people for entertainment, Netflix produces many films and series which are widely acclaimed. If we talk about Sacred Games, it was a hit. There were so many memes on social media related to some of its famous dialogues; "25 dino me kya hone wala hai" , "apun hi bhrahma hai, apun hi bhagwaan hai". Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddique were very well appreciated for their acting.

Another appreciation was acclaimed by Lust Stories. It was basically a story which revolved in four different parts. All the actors and actresses did justice to the storyline and picturisation. After this actors like Vicky Kaushal and Bhumi Pednekar were even acknowledged for their acting by many celebrities.

The idea behind bringing new content on such platform is that it targets the young generation which ignores the content shown on Televisions now a days. TV has become sort of a barrier for these people as they want versatile content for which TV can't be counted on. Different content is there for different viewers as per their mood.

If you are having mood swings then F.R.I.E.N.D.S is the best medicine. For an exciting mood, SACRED GAMES will do the wonders. Feeling romantic then binge watch TO ALL THE BOYS I HAVE LOVED BEFORE or LOVE PER SQUARE FOOT.

TV or NETFLIX

Although netflix provides everything that we want but it comes with an age restriction. Some of it's content is not recommended for those below 18 years of age like Sex Education, 13 Reason's Why, Lust Stories ,etc. For a particular audience, it is the best way to chill.

So it has it's own drawback as compared to the television but personally i will prefer Netflix over TV . Atleast we get to see a different story in different genres.
