Very rarely you come across a song with so much of a personal touch in it. A true-fictional portrayal of journey of a great showman. I was introduced to this master piece by Curt Cobain, A master of 'true-fictional' type irony. The sudden change in mood he shows in his songs with such complex subliminal messages, it has always left me awstruck but even his style was over shadowed by master piece of a lyrics by David Bowie. He starts by creating a mental stage where he shows us that he met someone around the stairs. They spoke about old times and places. The other person talked about times when he thought he was alone so it came as a big surprise to him. Then David realised that the other guy is he himself what he was in the past and he asks him through his eyes "I thought you died alone" implying I left you alone to die, didn't you actually die? The other self replies ' oh no, not me. You just never lost control and could never see me.' and now you're face to face with the man who sold his world to make you what you are today '.

David Bowie then says I left to home after shaking his hand . After that I acquired form as a human, a recognition and accessories like land, in years I wandered in this world. As I gazed upon the millions of people withwhom I met in this journey I realised that we both died alone that time when he left his past happy self to become successful. His other self then replies " oh no not me. We just never lost control." Then he weighs more on how he is face to face with the man who sold the world. This song perfectly suit the life story of David Bowie and maybe Curt Cobain himself. The performances by those artist tells you how the music has changed overtime. Earlier when personal touch in a song was evident now musicians focus more on catering to need of masses. Obviously that lead to a big lot of good quality music but do we really want that at cost of masterpieces?

And the worst part is we as audience don't even know what to complaint about. I mean we can't ask musicians to stop making music for us. It will seem absurd asking a musician to be arrogant and act like what he think right is the right music,But it is for a fact that people have always liked musicians who are arrogantly proud about what they do, and maybe thats what lacks in todays music culture.
