Article 35A of the Indian Constitution is an article that gives the state Jammu and Kashmir autonomy rights to define permanent citizens of the state itself. The Article provides state certain privileges in public sector jobs, acquisition of property, admission to government schools and colleges, scholarships etc and prohibits outsiders (not permanent residents) from such privelages.

The state has its own rules and regulations and the article prevents the imposition of laws followed by rest of the states in India.

This article doesn't only separates J&K from rest of India but also differentiates between the permanent citizens of the state and outsiders.

Article 35A is drastically hampering the growth and development of the state in the following ways:

First of all it it only allows permanent residents to pursue Public Sector Jobs and outsiders are prohibited which is restraining job creation in the state.

Secondly, the industrial sector and whole private sector suffers due to the property ownership restrictions leading to low investments.

Thirdly, top notch colleges like AIIMS, IIM have been constructed in J&K but highly qualified professors are reluctant to go there due to high rent rates and lack of property for outsiders.

Fourthly, this article violates the right of women to 'marry a man of their choice' by not giving their heirs any legal right to property, if a woman marries a man who is not a Permanent resident.

At the end, this article has more number of disadvantages and is a big disaster. Therefore it must be removed and Jammu and Kashmir must be treated as any other state in India.

It is imperative to do so for robust economy and affable relations of the state with the rest of India.

Abolition of this article will unite all the states as only one nation- INDIA
