NIKOLA TESLA

"I don’t care that they stole my idea …I care that they don’t have any of their own." this is the quote which was said by the greatest brains of all time i.e., Nikola Tesla.

A Serbian - American inventor,Electrical engineer,Mechanical engineer, and Futurist Nikola Tesla made a lot of amazing things to the mankind. He was the one who invented the first alternating current (AC) motor and developed AC generation and transmission technology. Though he was famous and respected, he was never able to translate his copious inventions into long-term financial success, that is because humble and philanthropic mind towards the welfare of the human sustainability.

Nikola Tesla was born in 1856 in Smiljan, Croatia, then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. His father was a priest in the Serbian Orthodox church and his mother managed the family’s farm. In 1863 Tesla’s brother Daniel was killed in a riding accident. The shock of the loss unsettled the 7-year-old Tesla, who reported seeing visions—the first signs of his lifelong mental illnesses.

In 1875, Tesla enrolled atAustrian Polytechnic in Austria, on a Military Frontier scholarship. During his first year, Tesla never missed a lecture, earned the highest grades possible, passed nine exams. After his father's death in 1879,Tesla found a ton of letters from his professors to his father, warning him that Tesla would die due to overwork. At the end of his second year, Tesla lost his scholarship and became addicted to gambling.During his third year, Tesla gambled away his allowance and his tuition money, later gambling back his initial losses and returning the balance to his family. When the examinations was nearer Tesla was unprepared and asked for an extension to study, but was denied. Therefore,Tesla did not receive his grades in the last semester of the third year and he never ever graduated from a university.

Tesla is the father of the radio and wireless technology. With over 300 patents, Nikola Tesla is considered the greatest inventor in the history of science. In his honour, the unit of the density of magnetic flux bears his name - Tesla (T). Tesla, an immigrant from Europe, had developed the means to lay down the foundation for the new electrical industry in North America. The invention, making this possible, was the alternating current generator, which today generates powers for billions of people all over the globe. He was a remarkable man, who changed the path of history and our understanding in the foundations of scientific research.

Tesla was striving to provide everyone with an affordable access to sustainable energy as a potential to solve the critical issues of poverty and education, and to inspire peace.Tesla accomplished his biggest dream on this continent: the first major hydro-electric plant in the world, based on his patents, was built on Niagara Falls.

Recently, Terry Guyer, a well-respected painter and sculptor, based in California, was commissioned to create the statue of Tesla in the Silicon Valley. It was unveiled on Dec. 7, 2013. The statue provides a free wi-fi signal and contains a time capsule to be opened on Jan. 7, 2043.
