Jolly, why are you pissed every morning? Is this cemetery haunted?" The urchin asked the keeper. The sun was already blazing as the autumn leaves hinted the season's arrival.
He chortled.
" That's an oxymoron kid. What pisses me is that I always find Oreo wrappers near that lover's grave. And as a matter of fact, no one visits him ever. Not even his parents. No one knows where did they vanish after the tragedy. "
" Oh? Then it is haunted after all. " Urchin laughed.
" Nay! But, his story..." He stopped.
" What story? "
" You don't know, do you? It's a small town fairy-tale here. That young boy and his lover, a sweet girl. Both died young while they went for trekking. Poor girl, no one found her corpse. After 15 days long search, it was just the boy's they found. What happened still is a mystery. The people who accompanied them say that the girl had almost made it past the cliff but then she was lost too. They never heard anyone of them even shout. " He said.
" Oh! Sad. But, the Oreo mystery. I think it must be his favourite biscuit." He said.
" Perhaps, or maybe some notorious kid like you throws it here every night." He laughed as the urchin sprinted away.
What really happened is still a mystery.
Whether the girl in short red dress who never visits or the boy who keeps watching over a happy family is true, we never know.
What is true is that their love was lost, until it was found again.
* A Few Decades Later *
" This had to be a graveyard." A young man commented.
" What can we archaeologists find here?" Another lamented.
" Check this out, people..." The third one shouted.
" Holy Shit... That's like a lot of biscuits wrappers." The first one said.
Amidst the shabby surrounding, it was definitely attention seeking sight. After all, plastics degrade slow.
" I thought this place was abandoned years ago."
" Guys... " The last one shouted from meters apart.
" Down the alley. You need to see that. There are like a few tens of wine bottles, a couple of them look so fresh..."
" That's it, Anna? " A 19 Yr old, Kev complained.
He was snuggling beside his girlfriend, Hally along with their other friends in a cosy reading room.
Teenage love is like a cherry on the cake. Sweet yet just a little piece of the cake called Life.
Granny Anna was the best storyteller in their neighbourhood. Every week, one story was a must.
" C' mon, both of them died right?" Hally asked.
" Of course, but wasn't it vague? They should have known." Some other guy said.
" Well, It's a fable people say is true. I think both never came to know what happened to the other." Granny Anna said.
" Huh? "
" The boy died with a belief that she lived happily ever after because of his sacrifice. "
" But the girl? " Kev asked.
" She's a mystery you know. Maybe, she's alive out there. Maybe she's not. Or her soul does feel the guilt that it searches for him every year or theories we never know.
But, one thing is sure that their love is not lost after all. "
Somewhere he's happy for he sees her smile every day.
Somewhere she's happy for she knows he'll love her forever.
Lost Love Lives An Eternal Life.
