Now the only thing I ever wanted since I was 16 was a freaking tattoo. Because why not.
It's art. And it's on my body. There end of discussion.
.
Now when I asked my mom about whether I can get a tattoo, she looked at my dad withher patent ' your daughter, you handle her' look to which my dad very matter of factly replied " Get it when you turn 18". Now given my forgetfulness I assume he said it thinking I'll forget about it sooner or later. But oh no! I remembered.

.
Flashforward 2 years and I'm home for winter break, and the first thing out of my mouth is" when do I get my tattoo?".

Now my mom doesn't say no to something which she can't prove is wrong, because I'm one of those lucky people whose house doesn't have the "it's right cause I said so" policy,( My condolences to those who do) so she simply asked " what if we say no?" To which my smartass replied "I'll just go get it, you don't need adult supervision to get it once you turn 18. What will you do once I get it? Laser it off" At this my dad chuckled and agreed to it as long as it wasn't something too big or something stupid.

.
Well now that I had my parents approval I called my friend who was planning on getting hers the day after and told her I'm getting mine with her. Now came the hard part, deciding what to get. The problem with this is there are so many options and so less space. Also it had to be within a 2k budget.

.
Finally after lots of pinterest searching and drawing up designs, I found the one design I wanted. Now my advice to anyone getting a tattoo is don't listen to what others say, it's your tattoo and it's going to be on you for a really long time so you are the only person whose judgement is valid. Some people will like it, some people won't. You've just got to deal with it.

.
So anyway, two days go by and I'm excited. The kind where I'm doing the snoopy dance all the way into the tattoo parlour.

We get there and we wait. And we wait some more. Annnd then a little more.
.
You see the thing about tattoos is they take quite some time. Even a small 2 inch tattoo takes around 30 to 45 minutes. And with every passing minute, I was getting less excited and more nervous. Because you see the very small detail I had overlooked was that I have needles. Actually let me rephrase that. I HATE NEEDLES. You know that one kid whose always squeaks and squeals like a pig while getting a shot? Yeah that's me.

So here I am ready to be poked with a needle again and again for a tattoo. Yeah I didn't think this through.

To be continued.
