Cell Phones are ubiquitous. It has become an necessary part of our lives. It's connectedness and convenience has made cell phones popular among us. It is no doubt a be necessity today, but frankly speaking, it has also become an addiction. With the help of cellphones we can access the entire world's information no matter where we are, just by using a device small enough to fit in one hand.
Nowadays, school going kids are also provided with smartphones. It's true that cellphones help their parents to reach them but often cellphones are used for other purposes by teens. They use this device in examinations as a cheat method. Solving problems through various applications are now available which no doubt solves mathematical problems quickly but in a way is making the brain dull. Even when I was in school, we were restricted from access to a smartphone. Not only this, but we were allowed to access them only with parental supervision. Parents of today are more liberal and modern enough to fetch their kids a smartphone as a status. Sometimes it also becomes a peer pressure amongst students to buy cellphones. In addition it has been usually seen that several accidents occur when talking while driving, or crossing railway tracks or roads. Although government has been trying to promote a safer live with safe driving and abstaining use of mobile phones on roads,cases still occur even today.
Benefits of cellphones are known to all. Today's cellphones come with various features and some of them are really helpful like sharing GPS locations, booking tickets, anti-theft applications, data storage etc. It serves the purpose of a computer today. Cellphones are great stress busters as it also has special applications like music player gaming applications, even applications that helps to meditate. It's easy to download and use and is also hassle free. Cellphones keep us connected with the entire world but in the meantime it makes us dull and ovetdependent. People like us are busy socializing "online" than "offline". We've abstained ourselves from going out, playing with friends. Even we are out , we can't stop ourselves from checking our Facebook feed or scrolling Instagram. We spend more time checking other's pictures than spending happily our own. And this brings in lot of complications and insecurities unknowingly.
Cellphones not only affect our mental health, but also causes severe damage physically. Overusing cellphones could lead to higher possibilities of hearing loss and even cancer. This is due to harmful radiations are emitted from cellphones. Even I face severe headaches after using phones for a long time. Talking while charging the cellphones have resulted into severe bursting of chargers causing death of many people. It also affects our eyesight. In simple, cellphones are a big reason of health hazard today.
Cellphones are a new era of improving our connections. It's no doubt cellphones have improved our communication but because of it's high level of disadvantages, it has not been able to establish a healthy relationship with humans. Even I'm severely addicted to cellphone even after knowing it's harmful disadvantages. But like me, we all can try to abstain use of cellphones atleast for few hours in a day, and spend more time with talking with family and friends being "offline" .
