Traveling is always fun and especially first-ever college trips are full of good memories.
Our 3 days and 2 night trip to Nainital could not have been better. This short trip made us learn a lot about various tourist destinations and also taught us about leadership and managing a group of people.

We left Gwalior on 23 March around 8:30 in the evening and reached kathgodam via buses. We then changed to mini buses to reach Hotel Himalaya, Nainital.

The day 1 was very calm and relaxing as we went for Himalaya darshan: a place from where we can have a glimpse of Himalayas. It is the best place to find solitude and enjoy the scenic view. A group of people with telescope gives you a keen look of the Himalayas with the help of a telescope and provide information about various other specialties of Nainital.

We then left for lovers point and suicide point which is a few kilometers away from Himalaya darshan spot. It is one of the most visited places and is popular for its amazing view. Suicide point is near lover's point as love and death go hand in hand.

The beautiful Mall Road took away everyone's heart. On the edge of Naini lake lies famous pilgrimage called Naina Devi temple. The mall road near the temple is a popular shopping spot. Tourists enjoy the Naini lake view while shopping for various candles and eating the authentic food at mall road. The beautiful weather and perfect lighting make the view of mall road a pleasing place for every tourist.

We went to our hotel where bonfire and DJ were arranged which made our tiring day energetic.

Day2 was amazing as we checked out of our hotel after having a finger licking good breakfast and departed towards Jim Corbett enrouting Bhimtlal and Sattal. Nainital is famous for its deep green lakes. Bhimtal is named after Bhim- second Pandava of Mahabharata. Tourists enjoy boating and other activities in the lake. On the other hand, Sattal is a group of seven lakes-

  • Hanuman lake

  • Ram lake

  • Sita lake

  • Lakshman lake

  • Bharat lake

  • Garuda lake

  • Nal Damayanti lake.

They are freshwater lake interconnected to each other.

We then proceeded towards Atulya resort at Jim Corbett which was beautiful with luxurious rooms and a big pool. We ended our day with another DJ night.

Day 3 was so much fun and full of adventure. We had a little pool party organized by the resort people and went to a jungle safari by Gypsy after having lunch. Jim Corbett is famous for open jeep jungle safari. It is part of largest tiger reserve with freely roaming exotic wildlife. If your luck is great you may find big cats with naked eyes in their natural habitat.

We spotted a lot of deers, elephants and various birds and a peacock with its feathers wide open. We then went to the Girija Devi temple which is one of the famous Shakti peeth. It has an eye-catching beautiful view as it is located on a giant rock in Kosi River. The Garija temple fully decorated with diyas lit by devotees and worshipers during the time of festival gives a wonderful panoramic view over the Kosi River. We went to the hotel and check out to depart back to reach Gwalior on 27 March in the morning.
