Life these days is a continuous race. We run from the moment the sun rises. So much work to finish, so many goals to accomplish. The race exists in our emotional and personal life as well. We always run towards or away from something that means a lot to us. But all the rush seems to slow down during the nights. It seems to stall all the problems and lets the day take care of them. However hard the day might have been, the stars dancing in the moonlight take it all away.

Clear night skies are enchanting. The peace and calm during that time is serenading. All our issues seem petty in front of the majestic galaxy, as if the clock stops ticking when the milky way shines at its best. The mystic darkness soothes the soul. The days might be good or bad, but the night promises never to change. It makes us vulnerable in a way nothing else can.

The city life has made it difficult to enjoy a perfect night sky. The day never really ends with all the artificial lights killing the dark. Experience the magic of the celestial bodies once and you will never get enough of it. After all, the sun can not shine brighter without the darkness.

THE NIGHT TRANCE

I lie down on the roof as the night falls,
Gazing the universe gleaming and glowing like the stars on my walls.
The moon is my only companion in the darkness,
A crystal that floats as if weightless.
Gracing every wanderer’s path with its light,
Being the sun of the night.
I see freckles on the moon, making it beautiful,
Then why do mortals find scars so sinful?
The stars seem to enjoy the sky,
Twinkling and shining away their time.
I see them falling away,
Granting wishes on their heavenly way.
This darkness is addictive, mesmerizing every soul ever,
Omnipotent like light, mysterious forever.
The sky knows a million stories
Of new and old and demons and fairies.
Witnessing since ages,
Speaking a language of signages.
It indeed plays the cupid every time
Making the lovers guilty of the crime.
This magic somehow hypnotizes me once again
And I, well it’s an offer I could never refrain.
So here I am through rain and ice,
Laying down on the roof as the night falls,
Gazing the universe gleaming and glowing like the stars on my walls.
