Let’s see what it could be, agony? I guess not, because it has to be a seven lettered word. Agony means a person’s suffering so it could be pain too, but that makes up only four letters. Anguish, that’s it! I solved it finally. That looks like quite an accomplishment, well what can I say crosswords are pretty fun!

A crossword is a word puzzle which could solved with the clues, hints and familiar phrases given right after the grid layout. The answers could be written across the square grids and down the column. You must be wondering about who that person was who came up with this popular word game, right? It was Arthur Wynne, a journalist of Liverpool who was accredited for this idea. One of the interesting facts is that the 21st of December is known to be the “Crossword Puzzle Day”, as on this day in 1913, Mr. Wynne published the first crossword puzzle called “Word-cross”.

With all those familiar phrases and little hints, this game twists those strings of curiosity in your brain, bringing out the eagerness in us to know these answers right away. This game of words is relatively good for building up your vocabulary and gives an idea of where to use these set of word in your daily life. It could be a good way to develop your communication skills, enhancing your verbal ability too, as you could learn word by word a know where to use them or how to use them in the right place and at the right time. Good communication skills equals to a good to make social ties in a better manner without stumbling and looking for word to come up with right that second. They’ll also help your mind engage on deeper levels, making you think from different scopes.

Though this game might look like one might pass out of anxiety and their thirst for answers, it actually relieves you from stress, making you concentrate on a different aspect and distracting you from your stressful and demanding routines. There’s this well-known phrase that says, Two heads are better than one”, which is actually true. Solving the crossword with a bunch of people would be fun and easier to solve. This way you could actually spend some time socially hanging out with others and also let your brain have mini workout session.

Crosswords surely won’t make you die out of boredom nor would they suck the life out of you if you didn’t know the answer to a particular question, playing crossword is all good fun, except when you begin poking your friend with the pencil and having a yelling match later, only to find the right word to finish the puzzle while screaming profanities at each other. Words, right?

And there goes the mini celebration, forgetting all about the yelling before. I guess playing crosswords does bring out the positive and productive side of you.
