In recent news AK-203 an Assault rifle which soon is going to replace Indian Army standard Issue INSAS (Indian Small Arms Systems) Rifle which is Inducted in the year 1998. The AK-203 is the new of Kalashnikov firearms.AK knew in Russian as "Avtomat Kalashnikova” named after it Inventor Lieutenant-General Mikhail Timofeyevich Kalashnikov. Ministry of Defense ordered around 7.5 Lakhs AK-203 Rifle which is manufactured under the Make in India Initiative. AK-203 to be made in Amethi.

Why AK-203 Over Insas Rifle:

Indian army is a modern day army and requires modern equipment like other western armies, However Indian army special unit which many which are deployed in Counter Insurgency Operation or Deployed near LoC are going to equip with SIG Sauer.
