" I have enough lipsticks" said no women ever! Lipsticks can make or break your look and hence, its very important that you buy the right one. I have tried to keep the lipsticks within ₹600 and something which would suit all Indian skin tones. I haven’t included lip crayons cuz lets face it, they are kinda pricey. Put this guide, and the Nykaa end of season sale to use and trust me you wont regret spending money on these. I promise.

1) Sugar Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick

Sugar is one of those rare indigenous makeup brands which has taken over the Indian market and how! While all of their lipsticks have great formula and pigmentation, their liquid lipsticks are all the rage. They are smudge proof, kiss proof and transfer proof and you get great colour pay off with just one swipe. The only drawback is that these lipsticks are very drying, and begin to fade off from the centre of the lip eventually.

Shades Recommended: Tan Fan (mauve nude), Bare Flair (rose brown)

Price: ₹499

2) Maybelline Creamy Matte Lipstick

These lipsticks were initially priced at a much higher range but then they decided to slash down their prices, and now it is a hot favourite! They are matte once they settle down, but they will transfer and smudge. As it is a creamy matte formula, they feel extremely comfortable on the lips, and you can re-apply it anytime and it wont turn crusty on your lips. They have a range of 35 shades and they are all pretty amazing.

Shades Recommended: Nude Nuance(brown nude, dupe of Mac Whirl),Touch Of Spice(mauve nude, dupe of Mac Twig)

Price: ₹299

3) Wet N Wild Catsuit Liquid Lipstick

Wet N Wild has to be one of the best drugstore brands out there. Even though these are liquid lipsticks, they don’t feel dry on the lips, and yet give that perfect matte look. These are light-weight, glide on like butter and have good colour payoff.

Shades Recommended: Give Me Mocha(slightly warm toned brown nude), Rebel Rose( pink nude, preferably for lighter skin tones)

Price: ₹499

4) Miss Claire Soft Matte Lip Cream

It was a long wait before these lip creams launched in India and when they did, they were an instant hit. This one is for all those college going girls, or teenagers who want to try a lipstick for the first time and don’t want to spend much on it. This is definitely your pick. These lipsticks have a beautiful creamy formula, and it takes a while before it settles down to a soft- matte finish. They are extremely light on the lips and do not dry them at all. Since the formula is very thin and creamy, you can easily layer up and it still wont feel uncomfortable.

Shades Recommended: No. 58( warm toned brown nude, this one is mostly stocked out on Nykaa, because of its high demand so keep the notifications on), No.55 (mauve nude)

Price: ₹295

5) Lakme 9-5 Lip and Cheek Mousse

I did not hear about this lipstick quite a lot and this was an accidental buy for me, but thank god for that. One of the best liquid lipstick formula. Its smooth, glides like butter, smells like vanilla and settles down to a complete matte finish. You don’t need to touch up quite a lot with this one and it starts fading only when you have something oily.It is slightly on the pricier side but you wouldn’t regret buying it. As the name suggests, this lipstick also doubles up as a blush, where you apply a little on the high points of your cheeks and smudge it for the perfect rosy glow.

Shades Recommended: Rose Touch (mauve nude), Coffee Lite (cool toned brown nude)

Price: ₹ 575

For those who stuck around to read this till the end, here are a few more lipsticks- Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in the shade Dubai, NykaaMatte to Last liquid lipstick in the shade Chai and Madraas Kaapi, Maybelline Lip Gradation in the shade Mauve 1 and Nykaa Ultra Matte in the shade Jane.

These are my go to lip shades and I hope they become yours too. Comment if I missed out on some cuz I would love to know them. Thank you for reading this.
