Sikhism is a religion established in Punjab which is based on the teachings of the first human Sikh guru(Guru Nanak Dev Ji) who was succeeded by nine gurus and the line terminated on a scripture known as Guru Granth Sahib which have all the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
The last guru (Guru Gobind Singh) taught us to achieve anything if you put your belief in it. He spent an eternity of his life in service to mankind. He established Khalsa pant which is a symbol of strength.
Well their name in itself describes them, Singh which means strength of a lion who is born to rule the world and they live upto their name.
Well, who don't remember the infamous battle of chamkaur which was fought between Guru Gobind Singh ji and Aurangzeb who was determined to have guru Gobind Singh's head on a platter.
Aurangzeb couldn't digest the fact that Guru Gobind Singh ji would not surrender himself to him, so he instructed wazir khan to take guru Gobind Singh ji in his possession by all means.
An army of 10 lakh Mughals surrounded the fort which housed only 40 Sikhs.
On that Guru Gobind Singh told the Sikhs including his two sons to fight fearlessly.
He stated that “ chidiya de naal baaj ladawa
Gidar nu me sher banawa.
Sawa lakh naal me ek ladawa
Tabhi guru Gobind Naam Kahawa”
He didn't thought twice on how 40 Sikhs would fight against 10 lakh soldiers he just believed in himself and his comrades. When the 40 Sikhs in fort raised the Sikh slogan ‘jo bole sonihal satshri Akal’ then the Mughals sitting outside the fort got chilled to their bone by the intensity of their voice.
Well, the army of 10 lakh Mughal were incompetent to kill guru Gobind Singh ji. It was a terrible defeat for Mughals.
They were able to do an impossible task which shows their fearless attitude and the power of their belief which led victory to their feet.
We people tend to give up really easily on facing little issues and here an army of 10 lakh was not able to destroy their belief.
Along with their fearless behavior, they also harbor humanity which was exemplified by bhai kahaniya who was a disciple of Guru Tegh Bahadur. He served the wounded soldiers on the battlefield by pouring water without any discrimination. When someone asked him that why is he helping the enemies then on this he replied that “war only kills our enemy but serving water to enemy kills enmity, and hence the need to war”.
Sikhs have carried their teachings as their legacies till date. Same example of fearlessness and belief to fight till the last of their breath was set by the sikh regiment of saraghari led by HavildarIshar Singh.
He was a part of British-Indian army who along with 20 Sikhs fought against 10,000 afghans till their last breath. They choose to fight over running or hiding like a coward. They sacrificed their lives but their bravery did defeat Afghans. Afghans underestimated their strength but at the end of the day their 180 soldiers were killed and 600 soldiers were wounded. Their victory was a part of an unfair fight which was equivalent to defeat.
Well, it explains that when you conceive anything, put your belief in it then you can certainly achieve anything.
