“This is mother nature versus human nature.”

There is a continuing clash between natural cycles of weather and the ideas of artificial evolution.

When ever humans tried to conquer and dominate natural creation, It has taken the control in its hands.

There are many examples, which prove above facts to be true; be it an earthquake, be it storms, be it floods, everytime humans have bowed down in front of our mother nature.

We are going to discuss about the floods, which along with their flow, took away egos of human beings with them.

The Johnstown Flood

It was so enormous, that the flow of this flood was found same as the flow of Mississippi River. When a dam collapsed in Pennsylvania, it unleashed some 16 million tons of water, With in an hour, waves struck Johnstown, crushing some 1600 buildings and sweeping away everything in its path. Later, poorly maintained dam was held responsible for this food but no one was ever held financially liable for this disaster.

The Central China Flood

Heavy Snowmelt, Torrential rains and Seven different cyclonic storms collectively produced the most devastating flood in Chinese history in summer of 1931. Thousands lost their lives from drowning during initial phase of the flood, but due to widespread famine and outbreaks of diseases like cholera, typhoid, fever and dysentery, even more people died.

Indus River Flood

Reason of this flood was an Earthquake, which triggered a massive landslide on the slopes of Nanga Parbat. So much rocks tumbled down from the mountain that they blocked the flow of Indus River and created a lake of huge size and finally, when that natural dam burst, that lake emptied at a rate of 540,000 cubic metres per second.

Casualties from the disaster were not recorded, but it is believed that whole villages were wiped off the map, and an entire Sikh army consisting of 500 men was consumed near the city of Attock.

Kedarnath Flood

Prominent reason behind this flood was sudden melting of ice and snow on kedarnath mountain, which flooded Chorabari lake and then Kedarnath.

Temple was flooded with water, resulting in human loss due to drowning and panic driven stampede.

Being a religious spot, many people visit the temple every year and in approximate figures, above 9 million of people were affected due to this flash flood.

These incidents clarify that behind every natural calamity, there is hand of human. Our acts of materialistic development interfere with the proper functioning of nature.

It’s our responsibility to treat nature and environment supreme. Just for the sake of materialistic resources, we can’t play with nature and natural resources.
