The “Log kya kahenge” Malady

Kuch to log kahenge, logo ka kaam hai kehna. Chodo bekaar ki baato ko, kahi beet na jaaye raina

Is there any medicine for the syndrome “log kya kahenge"? It's an epidemic disease and has become more prevalent in our day to day life. People are more concerned about society's view rather than their own thought process. Most of us have grown up watching and listening to, tales of Ramayana and Mahabharat. These epics have a calming effect on our mind. They have made us learn the best possible lesson of our life - The victory of good over evil. Nevertheless, at the same time, many questions have yet not been answered.

What was the reason that the one who was incarnated as the God- Lord Ram left his pregnant wife Sita in a forest; that too all alone. He was considered as righteous and kind-hearted king by his followers so what was the reason behind setting such an example for them, those who adored him?

Was that justifiable? Rather than answering these questions what we actually saw was that Sita nurtured her kids alone and her capability to survive in the forest. Moreover, all that I got to know from this epic is that the noble king left her wife just because what will people say if he doesn’t do so (abide by his father’s oath).

It was not the only incident which made me question this great mythology. Kaikeyi told Dasaratha to grant him wish that he would send Ram to exile. Dasaratha agreed to it and, what was the reason behind this? What will people say, Log kya kahenge that a king was not even able to keep his promise? Don't you all think that this malady has destroyed many lives and is continuing to do so? People have never learned from these epics rather they keep on portraying the same character with different names.

We can see numerous people around us with the same mindset as that of Kaikeyi, Dasaratha, Ram and the most important one Sita. Does anyone ever care about the fact that why did Ram ask Sita to give Agni pariksha? Was this a noble step? Yes, Log kya kahenge after all she had gone for a one-month vacation in Sri Lanka. What would have happened if she had failed this test? Was it right to do so with the one who has already suffered half her life in isolation for no reasons?

This log kya kahenge trend has rupture plethora of cells. It has tired the human body not only physically but also mentally. Try to change this psychology, rewrite this mythology and set positive examples for the people around you.
