Not Saving Ra's al Ghul

In the 2005 movie "Batman Begins" we truly see the reason why Batman is called the Dark Knight. Almost everyone is aware of the crusader's no killing rule as it is one of his defining features. So when Batman in the movie potrayed by Christopher Nolan allows a death to occur, deciding not to save his ex-mentor Ra's al Ghul, it is quite a prominent moment. This Batman story arc is remembered as one of the darkest as joker goes as far as paralysing Barbara Gorden and even kidnapping her father in order to draw Batman out. In the final pages as Batman faces his nemesis it is realised that this faceoff could only end with death. In the end when Joker says a joke keeping true to his character which causes Batman to laugh, the chilling moment couldn't be more iconic.
