Season 8 of HBOs Game of Thrones has recently come to an end and a lot of people are annoyed and disappointed as to how it was laid out in the end. Here are the top five reasons as to why the die-hard fans of this series were so disappointed going as far as millions signing up a petition for the remake of the entire season 8 altogether.

It was rushed.

Everything in season 8 seemed to be happening too quickly almost making us feel as if information we worth on getting in four two five episodes were being all crammed into one which lead to us not enjoying all the moments that we would normally do enjoy. For example, when John rode rhaegar it would have been something of huge significance but it did not stick with us for long as other things of utmost important things kept on happening.

Character Development

Game of Thrones is known for its complex character arcs which seem to have developed over the past seven seasons but its all semes to be just lost in the final season of the series. This seemed to have happened as a direct consequence of the rushed nature at the end, leading the characters to do things which are quite unexplainable with respect to their precedent development the best example being Daenerys herself with her sudden decent into madness.

Anti-Climactic Moments

Game of Thrones has quite a good number of twists and turns which have never failed to really surprise the fans but somehow in season 8, things were so rushed that even what should have been the ultimate showdown honestly just felt way too anti-climactic. Like, the Battle of Winterfell was something which was hinted at from the first season itself, however somehow the sudden defeat of the Night King, in the hand of Arya Stark just left a short-felt satisfaction as people at least hoped for a battle between the Night King himself and Jon Snow.

Plot holes

With the series finally ending, it was expected that all lose ends would get tied up but that was definitely not the case. There are quite a lot of questions which remained unanswered even after the show has ended. For example, the existence of the night's watch is no longer required especially considering that peace was made with the wildlings and specially since the white walkers are wiped out.

Changing of the Main Villain

In the Battle of Winterfell, it was the Night King who was the main villain, followed by Cersei Lannister through episodes four and five and finally Daenerys in episode 6. This quick switch in the antagonist caused the fans to get more and more confused and the rushed nature hardly helped in the situation as there was hardly any time for these events to sink in.
