Reeha turned to the third page of the letters' The lane work started as soon as we agreed to the negotiation offered by the court. It was a big project, and we were informed that the government would be the first one to receive direct benefits by the lane that would connect the Rampura district and the city. The taxes would be huge, and they would enter in the "Sarkar's" locker. But we had nothing to do with this. The villagers were very innocent. All that they knew was to receive money from the Sarkar and go away to anywhere on earth. This is what happens to poor farmers like us in the country, and it is not the first time that the farmers are forcefully thrown out of their economy, it happened before independence and has continued after that.

People think we are weak, illiterate, and would give up soon in simple situations.

Every day the villagers gathered to see the lane construction and waited for the day when we would get our part and leave the village.it was more than two years when we realized that the Sarkar has not even passed the project that offered us our money. The head of the town rushed to the court to file a complaint against the government, and this was for the first time that someone from our village fought with the system directly. The court registered our complaint and informed us that there would soon be something done. But deep within we knew that this fast would never come. There was a village meeting called, and we decided that we would hire our lawyer and will continue the fight for justice. Those were hard times, we didn't have enough money to hire a lawyer, but somehow we arranged some by selling our belongings. Finally, we hired a lawyer. He was a man of values.

We together made plans to target the government and its officials. He told us the way questions would be asked in the court and the way we had to answer them. We were delighted to get a lawyer like him. It seemed as God itself came to rescue us from the situation we were trapped in. The best thing about him was he agreed to fight our case in whatever money we gave to him.He understood our problems and treated us with a smile on the face. Soon came the day of our first court hearing; that way, we got to know that our lawyer's name was Mr. Garang Khanak.
