What makes your day the most beautiful? What gives you happiness and satisfaction? Going on a tour maybe? Or spending a day in a shopping complex? Or maybe a movie? Or the popcorn in the movie theatre? Maybe even just sitting on a couch?

I was someone who didn't believe that happiness can be found in small things. I have always thought that happiness comes in big packages. Like buying an expensive dress or visiting places that I haven't traveled before but that thought changed over time. I never really thought it was possible to be happy over little things.

It just started as a normal warm day. Usually at my house, once a year, we would wash the floor with water. I was maybe around 12 or 13 and I have two sisters, an elder and a younger. We used to help our mother always but this chour is something that we absolutely enjoy. For as long as I can remember, my mom has buckets of water to clean but we would bring more buckets and would start to pour water all over our bedroom. It would look as if it was flooded and we would start jumping up and down in the water. We would splatter water amongst ourselves and would start disturbing our mother. She would get angry and would start scolding us and would make us leave the room. But we would continue doing mischievous activities and would play in the water. Seeing this she'd get irritated and would throw us out of the house and make us stand in the lawn. All three of us would have puppy dog eyes but she is irresistible to those and would continue her work. She would finish her work early and would call us inside where there would be hot chocolate waiting for us. We would know that she is not mad at us anymore and we would do our work.

Years have been passed and still those memories as fresh. We may have gone to many water parks and beaches but none matches the enthusiasm we had then. That happiness is something you can't buy with money. The time spent with family is important even though we were thrown outside by our mother. It is a small thing for many but for us, siblings, it's a cherished memory.

Happiness doesn't matter on how big or small the object is, it doesn't even have to be an object. It can be something that you have or something that you want. It can be something that you spend a lot or something you get for free. Sometimes happiness can also be something where you get scolded for. Happiness is something that you love and is something that will be cherished for a long time. So, small things matter.
