So, overlook this complication and indulge in this monsoon. I have one place in my mind that will bewitch you with its natural beauty. This is the place where you can experience a plethora of things. Here, you can explore the incredible cultures and lifestyles of people living there. I am talking about Meghalaya. Meghalaya is situated in the northeast of India. It is also known as "the abode of the cloud". It is one of the wettest places on this earth. It is a prominent monsoon travel destination. Now, I will describe the places that are worth visiting in Meghalaya.

1. Double Decker Living Root Bridge:

Double-decker living root bridge is known as one of the most unusual naturally formed structures. Behold the beauty of this worth-seeing sight. This is the Meghalaya's most famous attraction which is almost shrouded in cloud and rain throughout the year.

2. Mawlynnong:

Mawlynnong has been awarded as the cleanest village in Asia in 2003. This eco-friendly village is 3-hours drive south of Shillong in the East Khasi hills. Locals in this village have created the alluring and picturesque guesthouse and treehouse stilts where you can stay and take a glance at the scenic beauty of the village and revivify your senses.

3. Dawki:

Dawki is a sight to behold for its primaeval emerald Umngot river. It is located about an hour east of Mawlynnong in the west Jaintia hills. The international Redcliffe Line border between India and Bangladesh is situated there. You can enjoy the boat riding on the Umngot river. You can drive to the most magnificent Bophill Falls along the way between Mawlynnong to Dawki.

4. Mawsmai (Shillong):

Meghalaya is also known for its varieties of caves. There are about more than 1000 caves. Apart from that, the worth looking cave is Mawsmai, near Cherrapunji. This cave is lighted all the way because of its sinister darkness.

5. Elephant Falls:

Elephant Falls or three step waterfall is one of the unique structure of black rocks resembling an elephant which was wrecked by an earthquake in 1897.

6. Laitlum Canyon (Shillong):

Located in the East Khasi Hills of Shillong, Laitlum Canyon is usually ideal for trekking expeditions. The scenic view of Meghalaya from the top is magnificent. The majestic hilltop and steep winding terrains give the canyon panoramic view.

Besides these, there are many more places to visit like Umiam lake, Don Bosco Centre for Indigenous Culture(Shillong), Ialong Park(Jowai), Ever-Living Museum(Shillong), Garo hills, etc. So, you should visit all these places and fall in love with the natural beauty of the gorgeous Meghalaya.
