Saas-Bahu Relationship

What do you think a relationship should be like between a mother-in-law and a daughter-in-law? As it is seen in every ‘saas-bahu' drama of India, it is not a very healthy relationship. Mother-in-law i.e. ‘saas' and daughter-in-law i.e. ‘bahu' are always seen planning and plotting against each other. Moreover, the one who is literally seen grinding between both the saas-bahu drama is the innocent, and a single MAN which has a dual character in this scene. One role which he has to play is that of his mother’s adorable ‘son’ and the other character is that of his wife's loving ‘husband'. This son and husband relations have a very fine line to create or not to create a dispute in a family. It all depends on how this MAN tackles all the difficult situations. Unfortunately, most of the time, he is seen failing to stop that dispute. Poor! isn't he?

Now, explaining in detail about the real facts, problems and situations which occur between a saas-bahu relation, it seems quite difficult at times to explain it. Saas should understand her bahu like a ‘Daughter’ and on the other side, a bahu should understand her saas like a ‘Mother’. Then only this relationship can flourish to the fullest in all the seasons. They should take care of themselves like a mother and a daughter. They should love each other like a mother and a daughter. Then only they will have a better communication between each other.But in about 90% of the cases, it doesn’t seem like that. Neither a saas is giving that much of love and affection to her daughter-in-law nor a bahu is showing immense love and care towards her mother-in-law. This is a matter of shame for the both saas and bahu as both are grown up individuals, and both are not using their wits to maintain a healthy relationship between the two of them.

It sometimes happens with the negligence or the lack of balance which should be maintained by that single MAN. This man at times gives full attention to just one person, and the other person feels neglected, and in reaction, she unintentionally starts doing wrong with the other person. Therefore, this MAN has a very important role in the lives of both the saas and bahu. He has an important role in maintaining a healthy and peaceful environment in a family. This is also true that both the saas-bahu duo have to behave like a mature individual.
