Holi, the festival of colours and happiness is celebrated across the country. People enjoy this festival to the fullest but often forget how dangerous it is for your skin and hair. Our skin is very delicate and sensitive and all the harsh colours can damage our skin to a great extent. We should really be careful and take a few precautionary measures before Holi. Afterall is it our duty to take care of ourselves and we must do that!
Here are a few steps that can be followed before playing with colours that can protect your skin from all the attack.
1. Apply generous amount of Coconut oil or Lotion on your skin
Coconut oil is a great moisturising agent and prevents signs of ageing. Before you step out to play Holi, make sure you apply coconut oil or a good moisturizer on the exposed parts of your body generously for maximum protection. This will prevent the colours from getting stuck on your skin and will readily come off when you wash it with soap and water.
2. Sunscreen is a must
We all know the importance of sunscreen by now and how it protects our skin from the harmful rays of the sun. Colours are really dangerous for the skin and exposure to the sun makes it a deadly scenario. But applying sunscreen will help you in this case as it will secure your skin from the deadly UV rays.
3.Apply Lip Balm
Lips are the most sensitive part of our face which requires sufficient attention. But most of the times it's the lips that suffer the most. Colours can really effect your lips badly as well and can damage them. So a lip balm with SPF can prevent your lips from getting damaged by keeping them hydrated and protected. Make sure you apply a heavy coat of lip balm on your lips.
4. Wear Full Sleeved Clothes
Holi is meant to spread colours all over, but not necessarily all over your body. So the best way to prevent your skin from getting damaged is to wear full sleeved clothes. It will save you from the trouble of rubbing off the colours from your body and also protect your skin from all the damage.
5. Use Herbal Colours
There are a lot of colours available in the market but not all of them are good for your skin. There are a few herbal colours which are made out of natural ingredients, that are free from chemicals that can damage your skin. They might be a little expensive but that is the best option to go for.
Now that you know how to sheild your skin from all the damage, you can play Holi happily. Happy Holi!
