“Brooklyn 99” is an action Police sitcom which had been released on 17 September 2013.

The show was widely praised, and the cast became quite famous among the viewers because it had something different to offer, the blend of dark humor and pure comedy is what made it more likable to its fan base.

Originally Fox Network had ordered 12 episodes and then doubled it to 22, after five seasons in 2018 Fox called off the further season making the viewers furious, after which NBC picked up the series for a sixth season on popular demand by viewers.

No doubt the series made a name for itself, and there are some exciting and fun facts behind it that you will be glad to know and they are as follows:-

  • Perfection and sensible humor are essential to the creators of the show, and hence each scene is shot several times, the same way. Then the same scene is shot a few times again with improvisations, and then the funniest of the shots are chosen to be aired, that’s what makes every shot of episode more exciting.

  • Andy Samberg (Jake Peralta) and Chelsea Peretti (Gina Linetti) both went to same elementary school in real life as their characters on the show.

  • Stephanie Beatriz (Rosa Diaz) in real life requires sturdy glasses at all time to function, and on the sets of the show, her characters are not seen wearing glasses. She acts blindly on the games and doesn’t use contacts too, as it stresses her eyes.

  • The cast of the show is hugely dedicated to their characters, and thus every member of the cast went through special extensive police and firearms training prior shooting which makes it rare for a comedy sitcom.

  • Constant jokes are made on the show about the dancing skills of Melissa Fumero (Amy Santiago) wheres in real life she is a professionally trained dancer and pretty talented ever since she was a child.

  • Terry Crews (Terry Jeffords) had worked as a real-life courtroom artist in Michigan and drew pictures/sketches of convicts and murderers on official trials.

  • The exterior shots of the police station are shot at a real police station, which is situated on the corner of 6th and Bergan of the 78th precinct of Brooklyn.

  • Andre Braugher (Captain Holt) has a dramatic theatre background and is extremely dedicated to his character which is well known for its pure humor on the show. He even counts how many times he breaks his role.
