Nowadays online shopping is a boom. It saves so much of our time, energy, efforts and along with this benefit, we get trending things at low cost. But as every coin has two faces, this too has a darker side which no one noticed.
I had recently faced its darker side therefore, I am writing this to make you aware of that. Firstly I want to express my tragic experience. So few weeks before due to some occasion, I was searching for a designer sari, I had searched on popular sites, like Myntra, Flipkart, Jabong, and Ajio but I was not satisfied with the results they were showing.After this, I was randomly scrolling through some popular images of saris then suddenly I found one which I really liked I clicked on it, it took me to some ethnic wear site, “ZIPKER.COM”. I checked the whole site and its product but I didn’t find any issue with it. And all its reviews were also fine, so I ordered my product through it. I was a bit uncertain about the site and its products because it was my first order on it. So I also look saris in the market but still not found any. So I took the risk. Within 4 days my parcel came and it was cash on delivery. After receiving the product when I opened it, though it was the same color sari its quality was third grade.
After getting disappointed, I open the site to return the product but when I was trying to login to the site it was not accepting my password, I got scared for wasting my money on this thing then after a few minutes later, when I logged in my order history was deleted. I was shocked. Then I tried to contact their consumer services, the number was either busy or no one is receiving it. I also wrote emails to them but each time they were just replying “within 48 hours we will reach you”. I was helpless, all I could think of that it was an expensive sari and I was expecting it to be good but all I got is a disappointment. I also called the delivery man to return my money and take this product with you but he said he can’t do anything about my situation.
I waited until the next day as there was no response from their side. Then I registered a complaint on the consumer forum online site. The most shocking thing happened at that time “Guess what!” I saw 328 cases were already pending against that site. I was literally cursing myself for the thing I had done. But then, I empathized myself that this thing will not repeat in the future and not by just me but others too.
So my complaint was 329, still pending.
After this loss and a great insight experience, I have decided to make people aware of such fake sites that are constantly breaking our trust.
Because prevention is better than cure.
I want to end this with a note “do online shopping but beware of such sites, as they are constantly trapping innocent people like you in their web.”
