“It’s going to be fun!!!”

A common sentence exchanged between people when they visit a hill station, but Manali is much more than the expected joviality. Although like any other hill station, Manali is full of beauty, but it has its own charm that cannot be ignored. As I stood there on a bridge, strolling through the town, I could feel the serenity and calmness in the place. Adding to it, the River Beas, which flows through the town, with its waters splashing and cutting through the rocks, is truly a scene of the moment. The connection between the rocks and the river beneath is too abysmal to understand. They appear doing there tete-a-tete or arguing about an issue or just playing with each other. To make it even more utopic, the signature hill station shivering with the breezy environ as I gazed at the rugged ranges while the music of the river refreshed me off my clingy monotony that I left behind and which soon will greet me back. Manali is enveloped by the giant snow-capped mountains, deodar and pine forest that make it much more idyllic and pulchritudinous.

“Oh!! What are men compared to rocks and mountains as Elizabeth bennet would agree”

The aerial mountains with the intermingling of emerald and alabaster, the cool wind caressing my rosy cheeks and the River Beas and Manalsu flowing nearby along with the wide glacial looking riverbed dotted with the huge rocky boulders complement each other creating a sui generis solicitation in my mind.

The Hadimba, Manu and Vashishtha temples are a spiritual sojourn for itinerants, the Vashishtha temple is famous for its sulphourous hot water springs, good for the skin and relaxes the mind. The Rohtang pass is as paradisiacal as it could get being the gateway to Leh, Ladakh and the Spiti Valley. The pass is also called the ‘Pile of Corpses’, as it is an extremely dangerous pathway claimed to take many in the past. It is important to drive very carefully along the road as a little tremble can be fatal mistake. The Solang Valley is a place especially for adventure sport enthusiasts, with extreme sports like Paragliding and Zorbing. The Jogini Falls are musical, argentic cascades hemmed in lush hills, clattering over huge rocks making them slippery and dangerous to clamber. The Bhrigu Lake is one of the most popular treks in india, leading the the small and mystical lake which never completely freezes. Another popular trek in Manali region is the Beas Kund trek. The untamed and sparkling Beas River originated from the Beas Kund where Guru Vyas supposedly bathed in.

Manali is one of the most visited hill stations in India and a requisite for anyone who loves breezy regions enveloped by the snow-capped mountains and silvery rivers parting through them.
