It is the most beautiful lake in Italy and has always been the perfect getaway to beat the heat. It has always been the best summer retreat for elites. Romans used to come here in order to escape Milan's heat. Though an entire lifetime is not enough to explore vibrant Italy yet Lake como must be there in your list. Just to the east, you can see Lake Garda with its own beauty and azure water. Lake Garda just acts as a playground which is filled with water sports. To the west of Lake Como is Lake Maggiore with its own charming attractions.
The city of canals is a floating masterpiece which gives an insight to the glories of Venetian Architecture. Who would not fall in love with a place whose streets aremade of water and boats act as public transport? The city's marble palaces arebuilt on a lagoon. Gondola ride is a must to do here and though it's a little bit expensive but it's worth each penny. Imagine a gondolier singing on a traditional boat which underpasses through famous bridges. You also cannot afford to miss the carnivals here because the vibe is very unique and one of a kind. The city of canals is also known as 'City of masks', 'City of bridges' and 'City of Water'. La Piazza is the most major public square. This principal square is also known as Saint Mark's square. The Doge's Palace is also an iconic landmark of La Dominante which was built in Venetian Gothic style.
Cinque Terre is comprised of Five villages which are Riomaggiore, Manarola, Vernazza, Monterosso and Corniglia and hence its name which means "Five Lands". Initially it was difficult to reach to these five villages situated to the north of La Spezia until the railways connected them. Cinque Terre is among the list of top appealing places in Italy with its awe-inspiring landscapes. Cinque Terreis located in northwestern coastal region of Liguria with steep cliff sides and hundred years old wine terraces. The place also promises you an old complex of hiking path which in turn allows you to see some of the most blissful sites of coastal region. A paved trail known as Blue trail connects all the five villages and suitable for all age groups.
Milan is generally missed out from the travelers' list of most appealing places in Italy and that's a shame. After being severly destroyed by the heavy bombing during World War II, Milan made an even stronger comeback. The place now shines as one of the wealthiest cities in Europe. Apart from being one of the wealthiest cities, the city also tops the list for innumerable incredible artistic and architectural attractions. If fashion and shopping is what interests you, then Milan is the perfect pick because Milan is considered as home to mega fashion. Once in Milan do not forget to admire its surviving treasures. The La Scala Opera House, the Castello SforzescoLeonardo da Vinci’s painting, The Last Supper, and one of the world’s largest Gothic cathedral all are the gems of Milan.
