The Ayushmaan Bharat scheme is introduced in India. The scheme is meant to help the people of the lower socioeconomic class, wherein the Health Services are of the modern times and have been made at a minimal cost for all the diseases. But the village people are dependent on the PHCs to access the Facilities provided by the Government. The PHCs need to be modernised to provide the services. The Village health workers need support to help the patients at the Unit level and then refer them to higher level health care.
So Dr Saurav and his Colleague from Karnataka made a device which has an LCD Screen, a Circuit board and battery. This is an initiative in the form of start up. This device can help feed the information and Clinical case of the patient to the Doctor. This can further help in diagnosis and treat the patient.
Another initiative is 'Amrut' , a mobile application that is meant for the Child care, Prenatal and Postnatal care. The Health App is a great tool of help to the Health Workers and ultimately to the Patients residing in remote places. Many Healthcare Centres in the periphery are not provided with Doctors. Health Workers are the only hope for the patients there. So for them, to seek medical help, Such Apps are of great help. The Consultant doctors are available to help them in restraints of time. The Clinical decisions are made easily and the rate at which the patients can be saved is being elevated.
Dr Saurav Das made a prototype in the form of diagnostic toolfor Diarrhoeal diseases. The prototype was awarded in IIT Madras.
The Government is also appreciating such works and indulging NGOs to work towards making such devices by providing them Grants and permissions. This is the success of National Rural Health Mission.
Dr Saurav Das initiated this as 'Nudigm' in India in the form of Social Service. It later went on to perform well as a big Business. He got sponsorship and Award prizes in the form of money. He invested the money to develop his 'Nudigm' as Clinical support System. Various NGOs and agencies are working together to help the cause.Health Workers are provided trainings to use the models. The services are now functional in many states of India like Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Orissa and Gujarat.
