There were days for many people, solar energy is the most reliable option as it is easy to use and within their reach. And in recent times solar is seen to be the most important source of energy because of its various benefits to the society as a whole. In this article we will compare how solar energy is much more efficient than the usage of fossil fuels.

Emission of harmful pollutants.

Recently the rate of pollution increased due to emission of various gases which was toxic for the entire population. As we know that the biggest harm in using fossil fuels is the emission of co2 which is very hazardous for people to inhale. The increase in sources of atmospheric CO₂ due to the burning of fossil fuels and reduction in sinks has been a major drawback for the atmosphere and the people.

On the other hand solar panels do not produce any hazardous gas that can affect the health of humans or animals. They have a minimal effect on the environment and has been considered ecological for the environment. So if we want to reduce carbon dioxide in the environment we can always switch to solar energy.

Availability.

The natural resources are divided into two types renewable and non- renewable. Solar energy is a renewable source of energy which means that can be used again and again. As it has been seen that the sun is available for entirely 9 months in india so we have sufficient amount of energy available to power our homes, cars and other things in need.

Unlike solar energy fossil fuels are non renewable resources of energy which means that cant be used again and again and can get depleted in some time. Once we have used all of them then there is nothing left and the process to generate them again will take millions of years. And by the time we generate them maybe it won't be the viable energy option left. So in this case solar energy overcomes the challenges faced by the fossil fuels.

Cost

Another major difference is the cost of solar energy panels and fossil fuels. Though the process of converting solar energy into useful energy is a long one but the charges to install and set up a solar panel in your area is less and much affordable. There are organizations that are set up for the production of solar panels at a very cheap rate also making the installation cost nill. Also when the efficiency of solar panels will improve the cost of solar will automatically decrease.

Because of the new technological advancements, the cost of solar energy has decreased in the past ten years by 73%. But as times have changed fossil fuels have become more and more expensive and the cost to mine them also increases with time.

Efficiency

In any field efficiency is the most important factor. And taking the example solar energy till 2017 solar panels have been able to convert the sun’s rays into electricity with an efficiency of 15-22%. Maybe the solar energy used is not as efficient as seen in the past years but right now it is the most efficient source of energy. And on the other hand fossil fuel are not as efficient as the solar energy because they produce extra heat in the environment which is very toxic.

Solar energy is growing.

Though the process of growing takes time but everything happens. We as humans also take some time to grow out of any situation. When at times we fail we grow and learn through our failure. Similar to the growth of solar energy. Though it is progressing every day a little bit but the growth process is huge and highly remarkable. It not only can make the environment pollution free but make you pay half the electricity bill that you are paying right now. And it's high time that we switch to solar energy to make environment clean and safer. And the usage of fossil fuel will decrease itself as it is very harmful for the environment in which we live.
