Today, India is moving towards digitalization. The existing Modi government is drafting many initiatives to suport Digital India in every field possible. Weather it be education, retail or shopping. India is walking it journey towards digital world, though it has many hurdels to hop over. The main intention behind going digital is:-

  • Quick and easy access to services and goods

  • Going Paperless.

  • Introducing India as a competitor in Global market.

  • A Step towards becoming developed country.

  • Coping up trends and technologies.

Digital India is a campaign started by hon' Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi. Initated from 2015 to present, it ensures that the Government's services are made available to citizens electronically by improved online infrastructure and by increasing Internet connectivity or by making the country digitally empowered in the field of technology.

  • Broadband Highways

Under this the Government has aimed to provide internaet connection to the rural areas. They've aimed to bring villages on the internet, events like e-panchayats has been initiated. Similarly, e-commerece to enhance employbility through internet, e-education for children who can't afford to go to school.

overall, it's providing e-facilities to the rural areas.

  • Information for all

Indian govt., through this, promises transparency and accountability. It allows easy access to all the possible documents of government assuring full information of the framework of the government by making available all the documents online on various government portals.

Going Paperless
Another main motive behind making India go Digital is to make lesser use of paper. Yes, paper, and why not? Deforestation is growing out to be a major problem which is giving birth to other problems too. Example for this is, 'E-Sanchit', which is basically an online website designed for the submission of import-export documents. Well, that's a great initiative!

Digital India has it's own benefits and problems, problems can be discussed in two broader terms:
-Lack of knowledge regarding operating internet, of people or Govt. officials.
-internet deprived areas.

But as it's said, every new thing needs and deserves time to make it's place. I'm sure one day whole India will be just one click away.
