Dumplings have a long history of more than 1800 years. Dumplings are a traditional food of China. It is widely popular in the North of China. Dumplings comprises of chopped vegetables and minced meat wrapped in a thin and slim piece of dough. The most popular fillings of dumplings are diced shrimp, minced pork, ground chicken, beef and vegetables. Dumplings can be cooked by boiling, steaming or frying. This is a traditional dish of China which is eaten on Chinese New Year’s Eve.

Sweet and sour pork

Sweet and sour pork is bright orange-red in colour. It has a delicious and a bit tangy taste. In the very beginning there was only sweet and sour pork, but to meet the growing demands, there have been some developments on this dish. It tastes sweet and sour together. Now, the pork can be substituted by other ingredients such as chicken, pork ribs or beef.

Ma po tofu

Ma po tofu is one of the most popular dish of Chuan Cuisine. It has a history of more than 100 years. The dish describes a hot and spicy taste which comes from pepper powder.The milky tofu is enriched or full with chopped green onion and brownish red ground beef. It is really a very tasty delicacy. You’ll love its taste.

Chow mein

The "Chow mein" means stir-fried noodles. This stir-fried dish of China consists of noodles, meat usually chicken, beef, shrimp or pork, celery and onions.

For preparing chow mein, the noodles are cooked in boiling water for a while. After they become cool, they are moved to the step of stir-frying. Then they are served fresh, hot and spicy.

Spring rolls

Spring rolls are cylindrical in shape which is filled with various kinds of fillings. The filling of spring rolls could be meat or vegetables, and the taste could be either sweet or savory. These fillings are wrapped in spring roll wrappers. The spring rolls are then fried in a frying pan. Then the spring rolls are given their golden yellow colour. This dish is very popular. It is especially popular in Jiangxi, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Fujian, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, etc.

Kung pao chicken

Kung Pao Chicken is a popular Sichuan-style specialty, famous with both Chinese and foreigners. The major ingredients of this dish are diced chicken, fried peanuts and dried chilli.

People living in Western countries have created a Western-style gong pao chicken, in which the diced chicken is covered with corn starch, and vegetables, mashed garlic and sweet and sour sauce are added.
