Jack and Jill

Jack and Jill
Went up the hill
To fetch a pail of water
Jack fell down
And broke his crown,
And Jill came tumbling after.

The history behind this poem was said to be about France’s Louis XVI and his wife, Marie Antoinette, who were found guilty of treason and were beheaded.

Few other theories said that this poem was just a comedy about a boy and a girl(a couple) and this was considered as nonsense because water would be availabe at the bottom of the hills.
