In the darkness alone she glows
Lonesome, shedding her light for all
Often her flame falters in the pall
Verily a steady hand comes along
Ere her faith falter anew
Yonder she finds herself again
Onwards she finds the dreams she threw
Unfazed now, she reaches beyond
Behind the walls she built herself
Earning the right to smile afresh
And her heart beats for itself
Unwavering now, and forevermore

Tis' the tale of a princess graceful
In a tower tall, held by a dragon sore
For the beast was of her own design
Ultimately though, so was the knight
Laying waste to the pain which held her plight

Lightning struck once might be fate
But lightning struck twice is destiny
Yet striking lightning, ere it hits
Is cause for the victor's revelry

Words, whether spoken aloud or whispered silently, never mean what you merely hear.
Hidden in these words are meanings beyond the surface, but to discover them one has to read between the lines.

And the words of a poet hide even more so, because it is in his nature to both unravel and to conceal the human emotion.

My words hold a meaning similar. Perhaps you would like to try a hand at unraveling them?
