Nykaa is a premier beauty and wellness app. It is partnered with multiple companies and acts as an e-retailer for their products. It is a Mumbai-based company which was founded by Falguni Nayar in April 2012. It offers over 850+ curated brands and around 35,000 products. Nykaa realises that customers often enjoy going to the shops and shopping and hence, in addition to the online stores, it also has physical retail stores. Going slightly into the technical terms, it follows an inventory-based model with warehouses in Mumbai, New Delhi and Bangalore. The first physical store opened by Nykaa was in T3 Terminal of IGI Airport in November 2015.
The physical stores of Nykaa are set up in two variances: one is the Nykaa Luxe and the other is Nykaa On Trend. The Nykaa Luxe stores offer the customers with a handpicked collection of luxury brands and products whereas the Nykaa On Trend stores offers the customers a wide range of affordable brands and their products. The website and app version of the company has over 15 categories including makeup, skin, hair, personal care, wellness, etc. It further has categories like “Mom & Baby” and “Men’s Store” dedicated toward particular groups of people. Nykaa even offers beauty and skincare products under its own brand name on its online platform. Overall, it offers consumers with a huge variety of products and offers a convenient way to purchase them.
I, myself have ordered a number of times from Nykaa and have always had a very pleasing experience. Since I live in Delhi, the orders are often delivered within 48 hours of having placed it on the site. Also, the condition of the order on delivery and its packaging are exceptionally good and I have never had any qualms about it. Coming to the actual products, I have ordered both makeup and skincare from the app version, and I can vouch that the products are a 100% authentic.
What I really like about the range offered by Nykaa is that it has partnered with a lot of brands that currently don’t have a physical presence here, in India. So, if I were to buy that product from its company’s website, I would have to pay extra delivery charge and customs on the items. However, Nykaa provides most of the items at a very reasonable range and lets me enjoy all those Korean Skincare Masks that I keep buying! Another attractive feature that Nykaa often provides is offers and promotions on its app. One can often find tons of offers during festivals or come across mid-season and end-season sales. Overall, I am actually pretty impressed with Nykaa and how Falguni Nayar has managed to single-handedly capture the beauty e-commerce market of India.
Also, if you are looking to buy any products from the app, there are currently a bunch of offers going around such as the “Buy 7 Sheet Masks & Get 7 Free” on Nykaa Skin on the Nykaa app. Do let me know how your experience was with Nykaa and what all you have purchased from there!
