One should never try to fit in a group of friends who are demouring you by challenging your capabilities. But in a student’s life , friends plays a very important role. So making good mates is not just important but is also a necessity in life. Trying to fit in a group can turn sour if you are compelled to do those stuffs you normally wouldn’t be interested in and that leaves you guilt, embarrassment and fear.

General meaning of peer pressure:

If you are doing something that you normally wouldn’t do or wouldn’t like do just for a reason to make friends with people who would accept you after doing those stuffs! Then my friend! You are a victim of peer pressure that we all have experienced in some part of our life or may be some are still experiencing and have no clue how to get out of this issue.

Some indications to peer pressure and influence:

• Watching the same web series that your friends generally follow.
• Listening to songs of a particular personality your group generally talks about.
• Trying to adopt a similar dressing sense and accessories to hang out with them.
• Doing hard work or hardly doing any work, both can be possible.
Thus peer pressure influences the way you would like to dress, the music you listen to. Sometimes it influences your decisions about who you date and who you’re friends with.

Positive sides of peer pressure:

Generally it is generally difficult for the teens to cope with unwanted pressures. But with the flow, here also comes the positive sides that can rule out possibilities of getting involved in wrong activities. A student might join a group of nerd friends working hard on a project, or can score good marks by studying hard under pressure because all other friends in the group are doing very well. The academic or sports areas where he/she lacks confidence can be evacuated by giving it a try as others are enjoying it.Is such ways teens are encouraged to at least try under positive per pressure.

How to cope with peer pressure:

• Hang out with friends who like to do same stuffs you do.
• Respect believes and interests of others so that they can pay you respect too.
• Learn to say "NO" calmly.
• Learn to let go. One shouldn’t do stuffs just to satisfy other’s needs.
