  यह मुशरिकों का काम नहीं कि वे अल्लाह की मस्जिदों को आबाद करें और उसके प्रबंधक हों, जबकि वे स्वयं अपने विरुद्ध कुफ़्र की गवाही दे रहे है । उन लोगों का सारा किया - धरा अकारथ गया और वे आग में सदैव रहेंगे

• And who is more unjust than one who prevents the name of Allah being mentioned in the mosques, and strives for their ruin ? It did not befit them to enter the mosques except in fear ; for them is disgrace in this world, and a terrible punishment in the Hereafter.
  और उससे बढ़कर अत्याचारी और कौन होगा जिसने अल्लाह की मस्जिदों को उसके नाम के स्मरण से वंचित रखा और उन्हें उजाडने पर उतारू रहा ? ऐसे लोगों को तो बस डरते हुए ही उसमें प्रवेश करना चाहिए था । उनके लिए संसार में रुसवाई है और उनके लिए आख़िरत में बड़ी यातना नियत है

• And so it is that We have made you the best nation * for you are witnesses * * against mankind, and the Noble Messenger is your guardian and your witness ; and We had appointed the qiblah which you formerly observed only to see who follows the Noble Messenger, and who turns away ; and it was indeed hard except for those whom Allah guided ; and it does not befit Allah’s Majesty to waste your faith! Indeed Allah is Most Compassionate, Most Merciful towards mankind.
  और जिस तरह तुम्हारे क़िबले के बारे में हिदायत की उसी तरह तुम को आदिल उम्मत बनाया ताकि और लोगों के मुक़ाबले में तुम गवाह बनो और रसूल मोहम्मद तुम्हारे मुक़ाबले में गवाह बनें और जिस क़िबले की तरफ़ तुम पहले सज़दा करते थे हम ने उसको को सिर्फ इस वजह से क़िबला क़रार दिया था कि जब क़िबला बदला जाए तो हम उन लोगों को जो रसूल की पैरवी करते हैं हम उन लोगों से अलग देख लें जो उलटे पाव फिरते हैं अगरचे ये उलट फेर सिवा उन लोगों के जिन की ख़ुदा ने हिदायत की है सब पर शाक़ ज़रुर है और ख़ुदा ऐसा नहीं है कि तुम्हारे ईमान नमाज़ को जो बैतुलमुक़द्दस की तरफ पढ़ चुके हो बरबाद कर दे बेशक ख़ुदा लोगों पर बड़ा ही रफ़ीक व मेहरबान है ।

• Neither did I make them witness the creations of the heavens and the earth, nor witness their own creation ; nor does it befit My Majesty to choose misleaders as aides.
  मैने न तो आसमान व ज़मीन के पैदा करने के वक्त उनको बुलाया था और न खुद उनके पैदा करने के वक्त अौर मै न था कि मै गुमराह करने वालों को मददगार बनाता

• Allah will not leave you, O People who Believe in your present state, till He separates the evil from the good ; and it does not befit Allah’s Majesty to give you, the common men, knowledge of the hidden, but Allah does chose from His Noble Messengers whomever He wills ; so believe in Allah and His Noble Messengers ; and if you believe and practice piety, for you is a great reward.
  ख़ुदा ऐसा नहीं कि बुरे भले की तमीज़ किए बगैर जिस हालत पर तुम हो उसी हालत पर मोमिनों को भी छोड़ दे और ख़ुदा ऐसा भी नहीं है कि तुम्हें गैब की बातें बता दे मगर ख़ुदा अपने रसूलों में जिसे चाहता है चुन लेता है पस ख़ुदा और उसके रसूलों पर ईमान लाओ और अगर तुम ईमान लाओगे और परहेज़गारी करोगे तो तुम्हारे वास्ते बड़ी जज़ाए ख़ैर है

• And why was it not that, when you heard it, you would have said, “ It does not befit us to speak regarding this ; Purity is to You, O Allah – this is a great accusation. ”
  और ऐसा क्यों न हुआ कि जब तुमने उसे सुना था तो कह देते," हमारे लिए उचित नहीं कि हम ऐसी बात ज़बान पर लाएँ । महान और उच्च है तू! यह तो एक बड़ी तोहमत है ?"

• It does not befit Allah to appoint someone as His son – Purity is to Him! When He ordains a matter, He just commands it, “ Be” – and it thereupon happens.
  अल्लाह ऐसा नहीं कि वह किसी को अपना बेटा बनाए । महान और उच्च है, वह! जब वह किसी चीज़ का फ़ैसला करता है तो बस उसे कह देता है," हो जा!" तो वह हो जाती है । -

  अल्लाह ईमानवालों को इस दशा में नहीं रहने देगा, जिसमें तुम हो । यह तो उस समय तक की बात है जबतक कि वह अपवित्र को पवित्र से पृथक नहीं कर देता । और अल्लाह ऐसा नहीं है कि वह तुम्हें परोक्ष की सूचना दे दे । किन्तु अल्लाह इस काम के लिए जिसको चाहता है चुन लेता है, और वे उसके रसूल होते है । अतः अल्लाह और उसके रसूल पर ईमान लाओ । और यदि तुम ईमान लाओगे और डर रखोगे तो तुमको बड़ा प्रतिदान मिलेगा

• So We caught each one upon his sin ; so among them is one upon whom We sent a shower of stones ; and among them is one who was seized by the Scream ; and among them is one whom We buried in the earth, and among them is one whom We drowned ; it did not befit Allah’s Majesty to oppress them, but they were wronging themselves.
  अन्ततः हमने हरेक को उसके अपने गुनाह के कारण पकड़ लिया । फिर उनमें से कुछ पर तो हमने पथराव करनेवाली वायु भेजी और उनमें से कुछ को एक प्रचंड चीत्कार न आ लिया । और उनमें से कुछ को हमने धरती में धँसा दिया । और उनमें से कुछ को हमने डूबो दिया । अल्लाह तो ऐसा न था कि उनपर ज़ुल्म करता, किन्तु वे स्वयं अपने आपपर ज़ुल्म कर रहे थे
